Robin’s home was charming and was a great place for our family. It’s right on the beach in a peaceful beach community. The upper and lower decks offered fantastic gathering spaces. We look forward to our next stay b
Lovely house on the beach
My family and friends just spent eight relaxing days enjoying the amenities of the house on the beach; barbecues on the roof deck, walks on the beach and not far from downtown Santa Barbara (ten minutes by car). The house has a fully stocked kitchen if you want to cook complete meals and a great view of the beach from the large living room windows. There are plenty of beach towels and body boards to use. We look forward to a return visit. Robin was very responsive to any questions we had.
Thank you very much for your kind review! You were a delightful guest and I do hope you will return.
We stayed in July, 2018 for a week. The house was spotlessly clean, everything you could possible need for the beach, endless beach towels, toys, umbrellas, boogie boards, etc. Kitchen had most basics for cooking at home, we went into SB to the fish market several times and cooked amazing fresh seafood several nights. Could walk down to Pierre La Fond for coffee in the morning, close to several restaurants and shops along the Coast Road, didn't go into town much, too happy in the sand! Three adults and two kids, lots of room. Upstairs deck fabulous. Really a wonderful house and worth every penny! Thank you Robin! We will be back for sure.
Charming Beachfront Getaway
If you're looking for a great gathering place for family right on the sand, this is the place. From the large upper deck to a generous supply of beds and quality linens, this place has it all. Perfect view, excellent location, quiet beach. Honestly, I can't imagine a better set-up than his charming home. There are a couple of things we weren't expecting. First, the house looks nothing like the painting featured on the website (other than being blue and white). There is no interior staircase. The lower two bedrooms require a trip outside and down the steps. Not a big deal but I pictured easier access. Plus, the appliances are a bit dated/small for heavy use. However, if you plan to just warm up items or cook small quantities, there shouldn't be a problem. But I have never seen a better supply of cookware, serving pieces, utensils and glassware in any home, rental or otherwise. As with any house built in the 30s there are typical signs of age but the owner is taking obvious steps to stay on top of these (ie. plantation shutters are gradually replacing originals) but the charm far exceeds any minor annoyances. Plus, the rooftop deck alone (also not mentioned in the listing) with its large BBQ, lounge chairs and tables would make renting this property well worth it.
Family Reunion at Miramar Beach Paradise
The Blue Beach House was perfect for our first return trip to Miramar Beach since the old hotel closed down many years ago. The place is really comfortable, with plenty of room and privacy for us six adults, a very well-appointed kitchen, and it possesses a cool, casual bohemian vibe with its eclectic furnishings, and large and varied collection of graphic and object art. We took full advantage of the two big decks, one right on the sand and the other a roof deck affording a wonderful panoramic view of the beach, and the coastline and Channel Islands to the south and southwest. We wanted to stay forever. Go to the Paradise Cafe in Santa Barbara. Have the mai tais.
Perfect Beach House Rental!
Spent a week at the Blue Beach House in February during the off season for a romantic getaway with my husband. What a delight! Feels like a European cottage right on the beach. The house is super clean, has all the amenities for beach living, including plenty of towels, washer and dryer, full kitchen set-up for romantic home cooked dinners, with fresh produce from the Santa Barbara farmers market. Was able to tan a little on the deck, even though it was the middle of winter. Woke up to gorgeous sunrise every day, and it's super easy to go for a walk or jog along Miramar beach, right outside the backdoor. There's a stunning ocean front view from the living room and master bedroom. The house is comfy and charming, with a cozy gas log fireplace, lots of great pictures and art on the walls. We felt like we were at a home away from home. There's easy wireless internet, and HD TV. The owners are a pleasure to deal with. Totally worth it and highly recommend. You won't regret it!
