Ars-en-Ré is rated among the most beautiful villages of France, in the heart of the marshes and with its alleys blooming with Common Hollyhocks, its old harbour, its market and its bell tower.

There are loads of bicycle paths to discover the wild landscapes; they lead to the beaches around Ars-en-Ré for fishing by foot or bathing.

Many activities: sailing school, horseback riding, thalassotherapy, tennis, miniature golf, beach, bicycle...

Fully fitted kitchen, very practical, with bar.

About Olivier

Married for more than 3 years, native from the Ré Island, surveyor for more than 20 years. We love bike rides, nature, observing migratory birds in the salt marshes. We like the wonderful beaches surrounding the village and go to the markets buy some local products.

Why Olivier chose Ars-en-Ré

We inherited this pretty house on the Ré Island, and we recently renovated it. This house has been in my family for almost 200 years. At the beginning of the XIXth century, it was a stable; which was later changed into a shoemaker's workshop. For more than 40 years, this lovely village house has been used as a holiday rental, and we are happy to propose holidaymakers an unforgettable stay between sea and marshes.

What makes this house unique

We love this pretty distinguished house of stone located at the end of an alley, quiet with its sunny courtyard and not overlooked to spend some delightful moments (rest and grilling). This courtyard has a vine allowing the holidaymakers to harvest the grapes in September. This house is very suitable for a couple with children, who can safely play in the courtyard surrounded by stonewalls; or for a retired couple wishing to enjoy the quiet and the practical and functional side of this house; or for friends wanting to gather around a table and grilling after nautical activities.

A very Enjoyable weeks holiday

Although you enter the property at the end of a small alley, it offers very private and secluded accommodation including a courtyard with all day sunshine and no overlooking. Best suited for a couple or small family, and can be a bit dark in poor weather, a lighting upgrade would help considerably.

Everything you need is provided, all was very clean, and the greeting and assistance we received all made it a great week in what is a delightful village on a delightful island.

Not for winter staying.

This property is not for winter stay. There is a moldy smell that comes after long time of no heating. Bath and toilet (that seams to be non-isolated) has no heating and is is cold specially at night. We had leased it for 9 days, but had to leave after 5 days. We could not contact anybody at the time we left and got contact 3 days later. The owner did not answer my e-mails and had not done it yet

Charmante petite maison très bien située

Cette maison est très chouette, suffisamment grande pour 4 personnes. La décoration est un peu ancienne mais pour autant tout le confort y est. La répartition des chambres est très bien, la terrasse à l'arrière est très ensoleillée, suffisamment grande et à l'abri des regards. Elle est située au centre de Ars, tout se fait à pied, et on a de quoi stationner les vélos. C'est top.

Tres confortable et bien equipee avec un jardin adorable!!Pres du tous les amenities.Plage et ville

La propriete est 5 minutes de la tres belle ville avec ses restaurants ainsi qu'elle est 5 mins de la plage qui est magnifique - un recif tres tres grand a basse maree avec des etangs etc.

La propriete est bien maintenue avec toute l'equipment necessaire pour cuisiner etc.

Le petit jardin est mignon mais tres fleuri et aussi tres ensoleille. Les chambres sont grands, la salle de bain avec son douche avec toilette separee sont bien adequats. La cuisine est bon avec four, microonde, etc.. et le salon est assez grand pour une famille.

M. Pacaud le proprietaire est tres gentil et toujours pret a vous aider et Mme. Sonia qui fait le menage est aussi tres gentille. J'espere que vous excuserez mon francais mais je vous souhaite des bonnes vacances a l'Ile de Re et en Ars en Re en particulier!

intérieur charmant mais extérieur décevant

Très bon accueil. Gîte parfaitement situé, confortable, bien décoré. Cependant très sombre, vue du séjour sur mur et palissade. Salle de bain minuscule et non chauffée. Donc impression contrastée.
