Mike and Tina purchased this cottage in 2005
Quiet and peaceful on the village outskirts, backing onto the Atlantic Ocean with its changing moods, this fully equipped 3 bedroom property is perfect for your stay. Set 500 meters off the Wild Atlantic Way, mid-way between the Burren landscape and the Eden Tourist Award winning 'Loop Head' there's plenty day trips if you can drag yourself away from Shorehaven's peace and tranquility.
Unrestricted ocean view of the Atlantic of its ever changing moods and tides. Laze away in one of Shorehaven's hammocks or shoreside seats while lapping waters sooth your cares. The biggest decision? 'Will I have another beer...or opt for a glass of wine and some cheese...' :-)
Beautiful location ,great house a and the most amazingly nice hosts!
We wanted to relax and could not have picked a better spot although Shorehaven is well located to tour the region.
Watching the ocean and feeding Happy the horse, popping out for scones and then having a cosy fire at night!
We could not have been happier and once again,Mike and Tina aware truly special people!
This was my family’s first trip to Ireland and we spent almost two weeks exploring the country. We spent our first five nights at Shorehaven and my husband, son and I all agree that staying here was definitely our favorite part of the trip. First, I want to say that Mike and Tina are just wonderful hosts! We flew in on an overnight flight to Dublin and immediately got into our rental car and drove across the country to start our vacation here. We were greeted by Mike – smiling and waving to us. It was so nice to walk into such a delightful, quaint and cozy cottage. It was the perfect start to our vacation. Mike showed us around the cottage and answered all of our questions. He even supplied us with a welcome basket with some yummy goodies. These were appreciated because we were tired and hungry, and it was nice not to have to rush out and find a place to eat. The cottage was very comfortable and such a great place to retreat after a day of sightseeing. The hardest part was trying to convince ourselves to actually get up and out. We all just wanted to stay in and watch the tide roll in and out. The views are absolutely amazing here and I mean AMAZING! If you find a place closer to the ocean, you’d have to be on a boat. The views are just something else. When you look one way you can see the Cliffs of Moher and you look the other way you see Mutton Island with ruins. We could also see the signals from lighthouses off the Aran Islands (I’m pretty sure that’s what we were seeing). We also visited when Ireland was experiencing record high temperatures, so we were able to walk along the beach when the tide was out and even wade a bit. The water was beautiful and the tide pools were really fun to see. Even though it was really warm the first couple of days, the evenings were cool and the cottage was the perfect temperature. The last couple of days, it cooled down enough for us to enjoy the fireplace too. This is a great location to explore all of the wonderful things County Clare has to offer. You are within 30 minutes to an hour to many of the top destinations: Cliffs, the Burren, Doolin, LaHinch, etc. We really enjoyed exploring right around Shorehaven. Quilty is quite charming & the locals were so friendly. When we left, Mike and Tina were there to say goodbye. We are so glad that we were able to explore so much of the “Wild Atlantic” from this location. A few more days here and I think we would have felt like real locals. Thank you! -Elizabeth & Ken
We had a wonderful time. The cottage was lovely and plenty big for our family. Mike and Tina are so sweet and helpful. We witnessed an amazing sunset from the enclosed porch every night and even saw a sea otter. The quiet village of Quilty is a perfect home base for exploring the many natural wonders of County Clare. We would definitely recommend Shorehaven and in fact we already have.
We had a wonderful few days at Shorehaven. It was clean, well maintained and comfortable.
We spent many happy hours in the sun room, watching the waves. We couldn't have been closer to the sea unless we were in a boat, and we'll be spoiled for anywhere else now! We were lucky enought to witness some stormy weather and it was lovely to sit there nice and cosy, listening to the rain hammering on the roof, the wind howling and the waves crashing a few metres away.
The cottage is deceptively spacious and very comfortable. The bedrooms are at the front, facing onto a quiet road overlooking fields.
Thank you Mike for your warm welcome and good advice about the local area. We did the cliff top drive from Kilkee that you recommended, during the storm and it was awesome!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to others and hopefully we'll be visiting again soon!
We were at Shorehave for one week and we had a wonderful stay. Everything was like in the discription! The house was very clean und Mike and Tina are wonderful landlords.
We could recommend Shorehave without limitations.
At our stay we were travelling a lots. The Cliffs of Moher or The Burren are only 30 minutes away, so Shorehaven is a very good home base for day trips to the beatiful landmarks of Ireland.
All together - We had a gread time!

We stayed at Mike and Tina's place in October of 2012. What made up our minds was the sunroom and the views of the Atlantic. We were not disappointed! The views were amazing! We spent each of our evenings watching the tides roll in/out while playing cards and having some drinks. We would definitely stay here again.
Cottage was clean, plenty of material on local sights and restaurants. Plenty of fuel for a nice fire in the evenings too. A short walk down to Crottys for a pint as well.
We were in constant contact with Mike and Tina before our arrival getting suggestions, directions, etc. Tina met us at the cottage and showed us around, gave us some more suggestions and left us with a welcome basket. On our checkout, Mike and Tina recommended a beautiful drive on our way out that was every bit as good as they said.
There is nothing more we could have wanted and Mike and Tina were very gracious hosts. You will not regret staying here.
