3 bedroom in woods with lakeviews
About James Close
My wife and I (Becky and Jim) raised two sons at the cabin and have many wonderful memories that we are now extending to our grandchildren and new quests like you. We live about a half hour away and still enjoy the old Northwood's get away feel of this cabin.
James Close purchased this Cabin in 1990
Why James Close chose Comstock
Becky and I were raised in the country, living in the city and looking for a cabin to get away from manicured lawns and busy streets. Most important was a clear lake with a sandy bottom that was great for swimming and tubing. It had to have a north woods cabin feel. We found the perfect place where our kids learned to swim, canoe, fish, catch frogs, pick berries, and sing around the camp fire for a lifetime of wonderful memories.

Peace and quiet
My partner and I loved our weekend stay in this cozy family cabin. The house is super close to the lake so the view from the huge picture windows is fantastic. Entire lake had a calm, quiet vibe: we saw other folks boating around or hanging out around the lake but it was certainly not noisy or crowded feeling. We brought our kayaks, paddlibg around was fun. Also saw lots of songbirds and raptors--a bonus for birders!
Enjoyed theLoon Lake Cabin on the lake. Enjoyed the campfires and sunsets.
My daughter and I had a fun time here. We caught several small pan fish, a nice northern, and nice catfish right from the dock. Very convenient to have the dock and lake 10 steps from the cabin! Water at the cabin is not potable, so bring water for drinking and washing dishes.
Cute little cabin
Was a nice layout of a cabin, making it seem very roomy. Did some canoeing and a bunch of fishing. Caught little ones right off the dock. Small lake but fun.
Spent a long weekend here with my 15year old son. This little cottage was the perfect hidden gem on a small secluded lake. We had a great time fishing, camp fires, and general lazy days on our kayaks. The cottage was right on the lake front you could almost fish off the porch! The cattage was equipped with everything you needed from cookware to games. Will have to make this an annual vacation place.
On the water
This place is literally 25 feet from the lake, very cool. We heard loons all day and night.
Google map doesn't display 18 3/8 Ave, which takes you to the cabin's driveway. Turn off the paved 1 1/2 street onto a short gravel road 18 3/8 Ave (next right after 18 1/2) , driveway marked with fire # 142.
