This is the get a way that is private and peaceful. Lots of space and lots to do around the area. We have people from all over the world and this country that have stayed and return many times to experience the connection with nature. Whether you want to sit and read a book or fish and swim you will not be disappointed with this wonderful area.
I am the owner of The Cabin at Hawk Hollow. The name comes from the fact that we have many Red Tail Hawks in this area so the name.
I am a graduate of Iowa State University in Ames. I bacame an Art Teacher and now spend alot of time woodcarving and taking care of the property. I live on the property and I am available if anything is needed by the tenents.
The reason to choose this property is that it is beautiful and very relaxing. It is a place to spend time reconnecting with family and nature. It is a place where you can forget the outside world but not be far from anything.
If you want to do day trips we are close to RI,CT. and the Cape. Markets are within 15min. away.
You can sit by the firepit and watch the moon on the lake and see the fireflys in the night!
Read the reviews and you will see why you should visit The Cabin at Hawk Hollow!
Privacy, clean water and the beauty of the surroundings. Sit on the deck and watch the ducks or the kayakers move by on a quiet morning!
I love the lake as it is ever changing and we get the sunrise here to enjoy. Every season is wonderful!
I'd rather keep this property a secret...but, Sue (the owner) and this property deserves to be booked solid (it probably already is). In my experience, online pictures usually make something look better then it really is. In this case, when you arrive you will see and feel just how special this place is (even better than the beautiful pictures here). I brought my fiancé' here, along with our two dogs, for a very quick couple of days to unwind and we fell in love with the property. Between watching our dogs swim, using the kayaks and canoe that Sue provided, and relaxing by the fire pit...I just can't imagine a better place to unwind. We will absolutely be back and are already planning another stay.
We had a wonderful family fun vacation at this great little cabin on Lake Manchaug! Great swimming, fishing, Kayaking, canoeing, and grilling! Our Golden Retriever had the time of his life plenty of room to roam and swim! We had 3 adults and 2 teenagers and that was pushing it for this cabin but made it work! It is perfect for water fun, reading, playing games at night or sitting by a fire for smores! Road coming in is a little bumpy we were glad we had a truck. It is on s hill so be ready for some excercise going up and down the hill. If you plan to fish bring lots of bait. We caught bass, blue gill, lots of bullhead at night. Susan the owner lives close by to help with any needs. Thanks for a great end of the season escape. We will be back!
Our family spent a week at this gem of a cabin. It was just what we needed to recharge! Beautiful location with swimming, fishing and boating. The cabin was sparkling clean and had everything we needed. Our dog was with us and she loved swimming and listening to all the wildlife around the cabin. Sue is a wonderful host, there if you need her but not right on top of you! Our daughter is already pleading to go back next summer!
What a great week. Small, but well maintained cabin; clear lake and private waterfront. Reading by the lake; kayaking and canoeing; jumping off the rock and... a pirate ship! And shopping and restaurants just 15 minutes away. Sue was gracious and welcoming- thank you!
Absolutely the perfect place to relax and recharge. Lovely, well maintained cabin. Swimming, fishing or just sitting by the pond with a cup of tea. Close proximity to water slide, mini golf and state parks affords the opportunity for daytime adventures for the children. My grandsons didn't want to leave 😊 Catching a 7lb, a 4lb. Bass and many fat catfish had something to do with that. We certainly plan to return to this great, little place as soon as possible.
We stayed at this charming cabin for a weekend in early May when visiting Brimfield for its famous annual antique show. We spent most of the daytime hours at the show, which was exhilarating but overwhelming, so the cabin was the perfect place to come back to in the evening to relax and rejuvenate! It was cozy but comfortable, clean, well maintained and perfectly suited for 2 adult couples. The only thing I wish was that we would have had more time to enjoy this beautiful location and spend some time paddling around the lake in the kayaks! Sue was great to deal with and very accommodating. We hope to go back for a longer visit so we have more time to enjoy this magical place!

Horseback riding, beaches, hiking and biking in the Douglas State Forest - next door. We are in southern Worcester county bordering Ct. and RI. Great location as it is near Rt146, RT. 395, RT. 290, and 10min. to the Mass. Pike. We are located on Lake Manchaug in Douglas. The lake is approx. 3.5 miles around.
Worcester has a wonderful world class Musuem and Craft Center. It also has Higgins Armory which is incrediable!
There are many vineyards nearby and we are very close to a wonderful section of Ct. Woodstock, Pomfret and Putnam which is full of antique shops.
Douglas and the lake area is like being in Maine without the long drive and the traffic.
