Newly restored apartment between the bustling San Vito Marina/Beach and the hilltop village of San Vito Chietino. The apartment retains many of its original features including exposed stonework and vaulted ceiling. It has stunning views overlooking the marina and the Adriatic sea. The apartment enjoys a private garden with outstanding sea views, it is rarely used by others and is the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast or a glass of wine in the evening. Refurbished to a very high standard and fully equipped with everything you could wish for during your holiday.
The apartment is centrally located in Abruzzo and makes it the perfect place to stay and enjoy the many delights that the region has to offer. From the 'Belvedere' (Beautiful view) just steps away, you can see 3 mountain ranges, as well as the sea and the stunning countryside with olive and wine groves. Whatever your passion, for the sea, the mountains, biking, safe beaches for kids, great food, wine, you will find it all here in this totally unspoilt part of Italy. The locals are friendly and always happy to help out when they can, a great opportunity to practice your Italian. I also live nearby so am at hand to help or advise if needed and am always happy to spend time with you and tell you about events and attractions.
We had the most memorable time of our lives in San Vito!
We came into town and decided to get married here. The town was great, they threw us a huge reception, cakes, flowers and food and drink.
The apartment was wonderful and Tina was great, we cannot wait to come back again.
After five weeks of arduous travelling it was delightful to spend a week in this glorious location. The apartment is beautifully finished and the towns both up and down were wonderful. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. They were patient as we used our Italian and were kind and helpful at every turn. Tina was so accommodating! Picking us up and dropping us off at the train station (even at a very early hour!).
Diet dangers: the gelato at Dora's and the frittura at Blu Mare!
This is a destination not to be missed!
What a charming and perfectly perfect getaway
The owners were caring, considerate and even picked me up from the airport.....
The property is pristine with the most fantastic scenery, and even in November I was able to catch a lot of sunshine.
I can't recommend San Veto Chietino highly enough.
This is a wonderful one bedroom apartment located in a quaint hillside building along the roadway. The apartment is nicely equipped with a nice kitchen and living area with beautiful views overlooking the sea. At night you can hear the waves in the distance. There is no air conditioning but the windows did have screens allowing for a nice sea breeze.
The bedroom was beautiful with a wonderfully renovated ceiling that extended into the bathroom which also had a clothes washer in addition to the usual fixtures.
It was wonderful staying in this beautiful old structure which has been renovated nicely by owners, Tina and her husband. The apartment is steps away from the stairs leading to the upper town of San Vito. It is also close to the stairs leading down to the marina area. While a little bit of a walk to the marina, it was a fun adventure each day and good exercise after eating wonderful pizzas and gelato! The apartment also had wifi which was excellent since we are from the United States and this provided a convenient and inexpensive way to communicate by email and FACETIME / SKYPE with individuals back home.
In regard to Tina, we cannot say enough nice things about her. She is responsive to needs, picked us up at the train station and drove us back (even though we had an early return and she had to wake up very early to pick us up). She also stocked the fridge with a few essentials as she knew we arrived late on our first day. This was our second time dealign with Tina and will not be the last. She is kind, professional and helpful and maintains the apratment nicely.
We recommend this property highly. It does not have parking and would not be good for those who have trouble with steps, but it is a beautiful location with incredible views. It is private and quiet but close to the upper and lower towns which offer some good restaurants and wonderful beach. If you stay, it might be good to bring a flashlight for the short walk along the road to access the steps to the upper and lower towns at night.
This is truly a relaxing place and we look forward to seeing Tina again! We would not hesitate to recommend this apartment.
This is a wonderful apartment in a traditional Italian home offering great value for money. Well maintained with everything you need and the view from the living room window overlooking the beautiful Adriatic is second to none. San Vito itself provides a wonderful holiday break with a lovely sandy beach and good swimming. There are other more secluded shingle beaches as well for those who wish to avoid the crowd. The food is mainly local seafood and fish, well cooked, with restaurants in a selection of price ranges. There is also excellent pizza. Strict carnivores may have a more difficult time of it.
The apartment is high up on the hill above the marina and close to the old town which has a traditional unspoilt feel to it and an amazing panoramic view over the sea and mountains to the west. To get to the beach and marina from the apartment requires a bit of effort (about 300 steps) but take your time and you'll get there! There is a wonderful gelateria at the foot of the steps as a reward. Quite simply the best ice-cream I have ever tasted.
Tina was great, very helpful, and we always felt that if there were any problems, she would sort them. However, there were none and I would not hesitate to recommend the apartment. There is plenty in San Vito for 7 days but for a longer stay I would suggest hiring a car to explore this picturesque region.
We really enjoyed our five night stay at Tina's apartment. It was in a great location with a view of the sea and surrounding countryside. We loved sitting in the garden under the shade of the olive tree. The apartment is furnished to a high standard and there are lots of lovely old features. It is not essential to have a car to get around as there are buses and trains nearby. If you do have a car you can unload your luggage outside the apartment but parking spaces in the village can be limited. Ask Tina for the best places to park. The 270 steps down to the beach only took about 7 minutes to get to the bottom and will keep you fit when walking back up - it really didn't take very long - especially with an ice-cream from the best ice-cream shop we encountered at the bottom of the stairs.
Being in the upper part of San Vito meant that we were close to the local supermarket, pizza places and the lovely piazza where you can watch firework displays during local festas (patron Saints days). We hope to return for another stay at some point in the future.
A clean and well maintained apartment in a hill top village overlooking the sea, and a 10-15 minute walk down 300 steps to the beach. The view is truly spectacular. Very friendly people in both parts of the village - we were fortunate to have a 'Slow Food Festival' on the last evening of our stay. With some research and a bit of Italian it is perfectly feasible to see other places [Vasto very recommended] by train and/or bus. We got to enjoy the exercise of the steps, but you do need to be reasonably fit [we are in our 60,s]. The neighbours in the apartment block were friendly; multi coloured bins for eco-conscious waste disposal is complicated but fun if approached in the right spirit. Good fixtures and fittings within the apartment. Garden area good for al fresco breakfast and the view, but you would not spend a complete day there. Tina, the owner friendly and helpful
In Abruzzo, San Vito Chietino is perfectly located on the Adriatic sea and you can choose from the region's many golden beaches, coves and bays. The apartment is situated overlooking the coastline where you find the protected Trabocchi, wooden fishing huts built on stilts. The port of Ortona and the medieval city of Lanciano are 15 minutes away, as is the stunning Benedictian Abbey of St Giovanni in Venere. There is also an open air pool and tennis courts within fifteen minutes drive, golf 40 mins, and the regions' famous water park in Vasto. The area plays host to numerous traditional festivals often involving wonderful Italian specialties and live music. Within easy reach are the Apenine mountains and the Maiella National park where there are plenty of beautiful walks, mountain bike riding, and horse riding. In the winter there is skiing at Passo Lanciano and Roccarasso. Rome is 2.5 hours away. Pescara Airport 40 minutes.
