Overview

About the property

Four-bedroom property with one-bedroom annexe, sleeping 9 in total

Millhayes has two good-sized living rooms - the family room has large sofas and flat screen TV and the sitting room has a wood burning stove, large sofa and armchairs, sound system and has a more traditional feel. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped and opens onto a stunning conservatory dining area with full-length windows on three sides giving spectacular views across the garden and valley beyond. The four bedrooms in the house are beautifully furnished and have lovely views. The bathroom and shower room are luxuriously fitted out. The thatched annexe is ideal for anyone who would like a little extra privacy or seclusion. It has a spacious bedroom with a vaulted ceiling, TV, DVD and tea and coffee making facilities. An en suite shower room completes this self-contained eerie!

The garden is about an acre in size with terraces and lawned areas near the house; plenty of secluded spots to sit and read, admire the views, or just do nothing!

Fabulous countryside for walking and we are also happy to accept well-behaved dogs!

Chocolate Box Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We were a family of four adult couples looking to spend Easter together.

What a treat. The cottage itself is so homely, tastefully furnished and the kitchen equipped to the highest standard.

The two lounges, one with log burner were wonderfully comfortable but the dining area steals the show, fantastic views from all sides.

The bedrooms were all to a high standard and everything was spotlessly clean.

The wrap around garden is charming and we made good use of the barbeque.

The location is ideal if you want to get away from it all.

I have stayed in many cottages over the years and this one is up there with the best!

Fantastic

  • 5 of 5

This is a home, not a holiday let and is located in a wonderfully quiet location where the only sound that disturbs the tranquillity is bird song. Very well equipped and very comfortable with a welcome hamper and cut flowers to make you feel at ease as soon as you step through the door. We will certainly return.

Fabulous luxury home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

Upon arrival the cottage is even more stunning than the photos. There were fresh flowers and a welcome hamper which was a lovely touch especially after a long haul flight to Heathrow. The cottage was very well equipped, spotlessly clean and well looked after. There was more than enough space for our 3 generations of family, we made use of the annexe which was also of a very high standard. The garden was stunning with lots of hiding places for the kids to play in and lots of space to run around. The flowers and trees were beautiful, the lawns were well maintained, we spent a whole day in the garden playing and then having a BBQ in the early evening on the terrace. The location is very convenient for shops in Honiton and access to Exeter and the Jurassic Coast, but it was also very quiet and tranquil and we felt like we were away from it all. The restaurants in Honiton were really good, most accepted our Westie terrier inside too. All in all we had a 5 star holiday in a stunning house I would thoroughly recommend it and I have no doubt that we would visit again.

It truly is a fabulous cottage. Very nicely decorated, lovely large garden and just a 30mi drive from the beach.

Loved the tranquiliy of the area and the large dining area which is a suntrap and has gorgeous views.

Gorgeous

  • 5 of 5

As soon as we arrived at the property I could see that it was beautiful and the inside matched the outside. Great sized bedrooms throughout with a beautiful mix of traditional and modern decor. The property was very clean throughout on arrival and the owners extremely helpful with the booking process before and after the stay. 9 of us stayed as an extended break for a wedding, but will definitely look to book again for a holiday/short break.

Very high quality in a beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

Spacious kitchen and dining room. Kitchen had all the equipment you could want. Bedrooms and beds comfortable. Cottage set in attractive grounds in beautiful surroundings. Very peaceful. Only issue we had is that for a full house of 8 people in 4 rooms (excl annex with ensuite) 2 bathrooms isn't enough.
