About this property

Historical Windmill with Panoramic views, perfect getaway for two

The Windmill is set in a rural location, perfect getaway for two. What more could you ask for. A Grade II Listed Windmill with 360 degrees view across 3 counties and only a stone throw away from UK’s largest shopping Outlet- Bicester Village which is only a short 7 minute drive away. This luxury destination is home to more than 160 boutiques of world-famous brands.

If shopping isn’t your thing then there’s plenty to see and do:

7min drive- Bicester Village train station (non stop trains to London 44mins)
10 min drive – Bicester Heritage Centre
15min drive - Waddesdon Manor House
25min drive – Historical Oxford
25min drive - Blenheim Palace
30min drive – Silverstone
45min drive – Warwick Castle
1hr drive – Cotswold

The Windmill formally known as the East Mill dates back to circa 1700, it lost its sails around the 1900’s and then finally the copper cap was commandeered for the war effort in 1942.

Back in 1998 the Windmill was brought back to life and converted into habitable accommodation and a leaded cap was added with those panoramic views.

The current owners have just completed an amazing 3 years project creating a subbasement extension around the Windmill and at the same time remodeled the top 3 floors.

So now you can shop/explore to your hearts content and come back to a comfortable, relaxing pad, take your shoes off and enjoy the views.

There is a separate entrance to the windmill via a grass roof leading to an oak door. From there you’ll climb a characterful stairwell to the 2nd floor cosy bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Next floor up is a lovely fully fitted kitchen and then to the top floor lounge/dinner the wow factor.

The kitchen is well equipped with an electric hob/oven, dishwasher fridge/ice box and not forgetting a microwave, toaster and coffee maker. Everything you need to rustle up some tasty food.

The coffee maker has a selection of complimentary refills, the milk is in the fridge and condiments are in the cupboard.

The cosy bedroom has a double bed with cushions /throws and on-suite bathroom, made nice and comfortable with secondary heating. So enjoy an early night or a lazy lie in while watching your favourite programs on a large 4k TV. A hairdryer is also available.

The wow factor has to be the top floor lounge/dinner, with 360 degrees panoramic views across three counties. Furnished with 2 comfortable sofas, coffee table and dinning table just for the two of you.

The sunsets are amazing and once dusk is upon you there is a large 4k TV or plenty of board games to keep you occupied.

If you’re up early and lucky enough you can see deer grazing in the farmers field and later in the day Red Kites are frequently seen flying around the top of the Windmill.

Things to note*
*Short breaks are available 1 night Sun- Thursday & 2 nights Friday - Saturday (Contact owner)
*No smoking, no pets.
