There is also a basketball area. The sunbathing terraces are furnished with sun beds and umbrellas. The property and land is fully fenced and access is off the main road via an electric gate.

Finca Los Martinez is set in its own grounds of 8 acres with Spanish oak, almond and olive trees and is the ideal location to enjoy peace and quiet, surrounded by beautiful countryside and Mediterranean wildlife. The large free-form swimming pool offers hours of fun with its diving platform whilst the pool-side terraces provide the opportunity to relax and enjoy the sun. The roof terrace with its magnificent, uninterrupted view is perfect for watching the resident swallows and bee-eaters as they swoop overhead or spot eagles and vultures soaring way above. Enjoy jasmine-scented evenings star-gazing with clear views of the Milky Way and catch sight of shooting stars.
Almogia is a charming 11th century Moorish pueblo with the remains of an ancient tower still standing. The village offers bars and restaurants. There is a Spar supermarket, chemist, butcher, fishmonger, bakery etc., as well as a market every Tuesday which is ideal for fresh produce. There are two ATMs, a 24-hour medical clinic and police station.
The historical cities of Granada, Cordoba and Ronda are fascinating and each make an easy day trip from Almogia. Always popular are the magnificent pre-historic caves of Nerja, one hour away, which are beautifully cool in the heat of the summer. For children there is the exciting Lobo Wolf Park near Antequera (especially if you can visit on a thrilling Wolf Howl Night) as well as the Bioparc Zoo in Fuengirola, Sea Life and Tivoli World in Benalmadena.
Take a 20 minute drive inland and discover the fascinating landscape of El Torcal; with its graded walks, viewing platform and observatory it is well worth a visit.
We arrived at stupid o'clock in the morning and even in the dark we could see that Finca Los Martinez is really special. The delicious scent from the garden was the first thing we noticed. In the morning things got even better. The property is spacious, airy, superbly clean and really well appointed. The welcome pack was indeed very welcome. It has everything you could need including a washing machine. The pool is fab and my kids could have spent the entire holiday just in there. We were met by Kelly the following morning and she was really friendly and very helpful, giving us advice on places to visit during our holiday.
On our trips out we enjoyed the caves at Nerja, El Torcal, Antequera and its bull ring. We got a guided tour from a chap whose English was poco and so was our Spanish but we managed to understand each other and although a controversial subject, was interesting nonetheless.
If you decide to venture into Malaga I would suggest a SatNav as maps were no use at all. We got lost a few times. I would also advise using paid carparks as there is usually some form of security with them. On our last day we parked by the beach in Malaga in a free car park and had our cases pinched from the car. Trying to find a police station in the centre of town is not for the faint-hearted!
Despite this I would absolutely, definitely go back and to Finca Los Martinez and I would recommend it to anyone.
Despite it's rural location Finca Los Martinez is only 35 minutes from Malaga Airport, 2 hours from Gibraltar and Seville Airports. The property is set well back off a quality tarmac road and only a two minute drive from the white-washed village of Almogia and 25 minutes from the Costa del Sol with its exciting night life, water parks and excellent beaches.
