Situated in the ground floor of a lovely, restored, 19th century building covered with beautiful green glazed traditional tiles (azulejos), next to the financial, business and shopping zone of Saldanha, with easy access by car, it is ideal for families that wish to visit Lisbon's tourist attractions or for businessmen and professors that have business in the firms or universities close by.

Recently restored and fully equipped with cable TV and Wifi Internet broadband access, the apartment has two bedrooms, that can be prepared with a double or 2 singles. Both the suite bathroom and the main bathroom have bath/shower.

The sitting/dinning room has 3 large windows and receives lovely Jacaranda-filtered sunlight. In the back of the apartment there is a nice decked garden with small tropical trees and several other plants, ideal for a drink by the end of the day or for children or pets to play safely.

The Almitante Barroso apartment is ideal for:


- families with children that wish to visit Lisbon's tourist attractions, but also value a place where their children and pets can play safely in a small garden after a long day of visits and walks.


- foreign teachers, researchers and students: Instituto Superior Técnico is within walking distance, and the Lisbon, Nova and Católica Universities are less than 15 mins away by metro.

Very comfortable, excellent locations.

Excellent quality apartment, very cooperative and courteous owners. Apartment equipment is very good: comfortable, modern, working, clean. Everything you may need. The location is fabulous. Easy walk to the Metro Station. The Metro will take you anywhere you'd like to go in Lisbon: down to the tourist attractions (literally a hop) or to the airport. It will take you about less that a minute to learn how to navigate the Metro. The neighborhood itself is busy residential-commercial mix. I spotted one grocery store right across the street, two nice bakeries within 1 minute walk, plenty of truly local restaurants, meaning places where the locals dine, and a department store, if you'd like. If you want to rent a car, there is a car rental agency within less than a five minute walking distance. I did rent a car to take a trip outside Lisbon. Parking is a challenge, but doable.

Perfect property for our conference and sightseeing

Excellent location located between Pavilhao Carlos Lopes convention site and downtown Lisbon, only 15-20 min walk to either. Very close to Metro as an alternative or Uber is €4-6 to practically anywhere in the city. Convenient grocery store for your purchases, and very quiet rooms for sleeping. Loved the outside garden terrace. Hosts are wonderful and reply to your questions very quickly. I would highly recommend a stay here and would come back on a future trip.

The neighborhood met all our needs.

Our stay in Lisbon was enhanced by this very comfortable lodging and our hosts were very helpful with tour guidance. Very pleasant to wake up and start our day with coffee in the garden. The adjacent mini market met all our grocery needs and the pasty shop on the circle was perfect for a coffee and late afternoon snack. We plan on booking this apartment the next time we are in Lisbon.

Top notch rental in a great location

Two adults and a small dog stayed in this lovely apartment for a week in early December. It met all our needs and then some. It was well equipped, modern, and stylish. The owners went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and gave us quite a few suggestions on sites to see, places, to eat, and even a few of the out-of-the-way places for locals. All recommendations were spot on, too. The apartment is well situated to explore wonderful Lisbon and it was close to transportation needs. I can't say enough about their hospitality and the apartment. We'd definitely rent it again when we return to Lisbon. Unfortunately, we never did find the turtle in the garden. The neighborhood is quiet and full of life and honestly, the apartment would work for longer stays as well. A great find. (We even had help lugging up our luggage up from one of the owners as there are a few stairs but nothing of concern.)

Beautiful apartment. Everything you could possibly want!

This was an absolutely lovely accommodation in a quiet, convenient location. It was very comfortable and we really enjoyed spending time in the peaceful garden. It has everything that you need which makes it feel like home. The host was very helpful and responded very quickly to an enquiries. We would definitely stay here again!

The apartment is located in the business and financial center of Lisbon, close to the elegant Largo D. Estefania, with it's Neptun fountain, and the Praça Saldanha, with it's shopping centers. Easy access to the major tourist attractions of Lisbon.




Within walking distance you can visit the Gulbenkian Museum, the Edward VII Park, Marques de Pombal and the Avenida da Liberdade. The downtown zone (Chiado, Rossio, Rua Augusta, Terreiro do Paco and the old neighborhoods of Alfama, Bairro Alto and Castelo de S. Jorge) are just 5 minutes away by metro. You can easily go to Belém and Mosteiro dos Jeronimos zone using the hop-on hop-off buses from Saldanha and the Parque das Naçoes and Oceanario zone with the red line of the metro.




Plenty of choice of restaurants and gastronomy within 5 mins walking, including traditional Portuguese restaurants like Pavão and Duas Amazonas (Portuguese fish & seafood) and O Vitral (regional), international cuisine, like Zaafran (Indian), Samurai (Japanese) or Valentino (Italian) and the international fast-food chains like McDonald's and Pizza Hut. For late night dining, you have the Galeto, open until 3am.

To taste the delicious cakes and pastries of Lisbon, including the famous tarts of Belém, try Pastelaria Versailles.

If you prefer to cook at home, right in front of the apartment you have a Modelo-Continente (a modern mini market) and at the top of the street the 31 Janeiro Market (a traditional market with fresh fish, meat, fruits and vegetables).


Shopping and cinema:


Saldanha Residence, Dolce Vita Monumental, Atrium Saldanha shopping centers (nearby), Also close to the apartment there are the Campo Pequeno bullring shopping center and musical arena, El Corte Ingles department store, Avenida Liberdade fashion and designer shops.
