The 18th century renovated and independant apartments, obtained from the old stables of the Masseria, with vaulted ceilings, are part of the main country house resided by the owners. They overlook over the 240 acres farm of secular olive trees, Primitivo DOC vineyards and pine woods. The outdoor yard adjacent to both apartments and available for the tenants has two external showers, canopy, table, bench and chairs, parking spaces and an independent entrance. The photos of the house describe the interior in detail. In the evening the guests can enjoy the refreshing seabreeze from the pleasant rooftops. It is possible to use the indoor wood oven or the barbeque to grill fish and enjoy it with a nice cold glass of Primitivo di Manduria, a must! Distance to the sea is three Km and to Maruggio one. Manduria town is 12km away.
Maruggio is a small town famous for its figs, with supermarkets and a picturesque food market on Wednesdays. The nearest seaside village is Campomarino with crystal clear sea, quartz sand beaches and juniper scented dunes. The sea offers interesting excursions for snorkeling and fishing. The near chilly underground river Chidro, close to San Pietro, emerges at 200 meters from the coastline. Over there offshore, it's possible to admire, for the diving enthusiasts, the cargo of a Roman ship sunk around the third century AD. This is one of the many examples of the pure water springs of the Puglia. Another famous spot is Porto Selvaggio green, further South.
Cimarra Estate is located 40 km from Brindisi airport and 40 km from Taranto where the A14 Bari-Taranto Highway ends. The MARTA, museum in Taranto, is one of the most important archeological museums in Italy, established in 1887, is located inside the convent of Alcantarini (XVIII century) in the Umbertino quarter of the city. The museum is known for the goldsmith’s art (Ori of Taranto) and for the skeleton of the Ahlete of Taranto, among the most important roman finds discovered in the nineteenth and twentieth century excavations, during the construction of the new city. This man has been studied by laboratories all around the world, exihibited at the Olimpics in Beijing and told by the BBC documentary, belong the Pentatlon Champion at the Panathenaic Games.
One hundred twenty kilometers of coastline, of breathtaking view, crystal, blu and turquoise sea, thin sand, beautiful dunes and cliffs, characterize Taranto coast, which overlooks the Gulf washed by the Ionian Sea. A succession of beaches, mostly free, and lidos, leads to Campomarino and Marina di Maruggio, beach where every year the sea turtles nest. The Tarantino coast ends at east towards Punta Prosciutto and Porto Cesareo with a surprise: the Reserve of Salt Marshes and Dunes of Torre Columena, where flamingos come to settle and reproduce all over the year.
The vaulted ceilings of the four rooms + two bathrooms give greater amplitude to the ground floor apartment. The windows overlook the garden of the farm. The light in front of the house allows you to eat outside in the cool evenings, and you might use it as living room. The bougainvillea around the arches form a contrast of colors: red, green and white, pleasant and restful. In the apartment the large room is the oldest part of building (1700s), it is ancient and thick walls keep fresh temperature naturally. In winter, the house is heated thanks to the two fireplaces. The spacious terraces above are convenient for sipping a drink, enjoing the view of the forest and for drying clothes. There is a lot of space outside as well as inside the apartment.

Letizia purchased this house in 1850
The estate Cimarra is a long time family property. Guests are welcome in this peaceful environment because this helps the owner to have friendly company and in the maintenance of the large family property.
Cimarra Property Features are: peace, starry sky in the evening, terraces ventilated by the sea breeze, birds singing, the deafening chirping of cicadas, fresh vegetables, fruits picked from, Letizia jams.
Peace evening at home, after repeated immersion in the clear waters of Ionio beaches or have tasted in noisy festivals, the pizzarieddi or other typical products of Puglia.
My husband and I devote a lot of time to La Cimarra, we like using our hands and sweat, staying outside in the fresh air, after a life of sedentary brain work.
The thick exterior walls of a meter large keep the temperature constant in double bedroom.
In May I grow roses, in June I collect firstborn capers , which are as good as those of Pantelleria. In July, I deal with blackberries, tomatoes and eggplants in olive oil jars. In August jam of figs, of racemes of Primitive, prickly pears.
The starry sky with the constellations and shooting stars is perhaps the most beautiful show, after the sea. And you can enjoy!

Marielle
The ancient villaMasseria is nestled in a private park (160 ht) with two woods and accommodation of the 18 th century, now renovated, it is a part. The house has two large fireplaces, one of which is also stone oven for bread and cakes.
In the garden apartment and studio are due to the use of the tenant two outdoor showers, a fireplace inside the oven-bread and a garden umbrella, bench and chairs in front of this house and studio, with the possibility of more parking spaces. It has a green gate independent and another large stone oven for bread and pizzas.
The roof of the house is livable and pleasant terraces, stay in the evening with the expiry of the refreshing sea breeze. And it is possible to use the outdoor wood oven or grill the fish on the barbecue with a glass of Primitivo di Manduria eaten cold, try it!
Tourist areas in the close proximity: Oria, with the castle XII century, Manduria, by the rich Mother Church, Francavilla Fontana fully stocked by the local market on Saturdays, Brindisi Harbor, Lecce known as Florence of the south for architectural beauty: cave churches with Romanesque cathedrals, castles of Frederick II, the treasures of the Baroque, Portoselvaggio and its pure and limpid waters, fishing port Gallipoli, Taranto with the National Museum of Archaeology on Magna Grecia and the Aragonese Castle Sant'Angelo, Martina Franca renowned for its Baroque architecture and music festival in the Valle d'Itria. PortoCesareo and the different varieties of fishes.
I emphasize the beauty of Punta Prosciutto and Palude del Conte, beach of soft white sand and uncontaminated and virgin, one densely populated, the other one solitary and wild charm.
The Apulia region has every year a big increase of tourists due to its natural attractions, particulary the water of the sea, and its monuments.
