  • All the beds, mattresses and furniture in the rooms on the 1st floor were bought in 2011. The furniture in the master bedroom on the ground floor is from 2011. All the bedrooms have large built-in wardrobes and chests of drawers. All bedlinen (sheets and duvet covers) and towels (1 bath towel and and 1 smaller one) provided. All the duvets atre anti-allergenic. Lots of teatowels in the kitchen. Parquet floor in the master bedroom, carpets in the others. Sofa-bed (for 1 person) in the living room.

Stunning house in a beautiful location

Me and family had one of the most memorable time in this beautiful house. It is well equipped and quite central to Isle of Skye, Inverness, Ben Nevis, Fort William. The host is also very welcoming and ensured we are well looked after, will definitely visit again :)

Wonderful big house

This is the third time we’ve stayed in Nathalie’s beautiful house and it’s a real home from home. We were given a warm welcome from Nicola as always and everything you could need is provided in the house. There were 8 of us, but there is plenty of room. We were very lucky to get some amazing snow and enjoyed 3 lovely days snowboarding. If anyone is ever travelling to the house in the snow, it might help you to know that the road was cleared and well gritted up to the house. There is a really nice kids swing park a 5 min walk away. This time, we took the path up Neptune’s staircase (a very easy stroll) with some lovely barges and boats at the top. In previous years we have taken the walk into Glen Nevis to Steall waterfall - it’s a lovely family walk up a walking path but it is rocky in places (not for buggies) and you really should have good boots for the walk.

The house is gorgeous with fantastic views of the mountains. There is a great selection of books and dvds. There are family games and a few toys for kiddies too. The house is so well equipped that we managed Sunday Roast with homemade chocolate cake. Lots of utensils and plenty of space. The Wi-fi works fantastically, and we all got a really good mobile signal. My husband measures most accommodation on its showers and the showers both got full marks! Thanks for another lovely holiday, I’m sure we’ll be returning for a 4th visit.

Welcome to Taigh A'Chaorainn ('Rowan Tree House' in Gaelic) an ideal holiday destination in the Highlands of Scotland, 10 miles from Fort William, the outdoor capital of the UK. We are close to Loch Ness, Ben Nevis and the Cairngorms. The Caledonian Canal is a stone's throw away. The house is a great base from which to go walking/hiking, birdwatching, fishing, play golf, and try some water sports. Skiing in winter.
