Overview

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday apartment in England - Weston Lodge

Sleeps 4+1(2 bedrooms)spacious well appointed apartment Lovely views & gardens

Weston Lodge is a grand Georgian building set in its own grounds. With its stylish decor this romantic and quirky spacious apartment on the second (top) floor will wow and cosset you.

You will have an allocated parking space, extensive sunny communal gardens and a little bit of peace and quiet.

The apartment is well stocked with kitchen equipment and a few basic cooking necessities etc, to wide screen TV, DVD player, radio and WiFi, books and magazines to browse.

Whether your stay (minimum of 2 nights) is for family, friends or a romantic weekend get away, you could not ask for a more delightful retreat from the hustle and bustle of Bath City Centre, and yet you are within seconds of quiet countryside walks which connect to the Cotswold Way.

This is a stylish and peaceful apartment within the fine setting of a Grand Georgian Bath building.

It is well appointed, quiet and has lovely countryside views and extensive gardens & parking for numerous cars.

Sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms, with the option of a 5th fold-up bed in the lounge or master bedroom.

+ short breaks (2 night minimum)

+ Romantic? Most definitely!

+ Two couples? Ideal.

+ For a group of friends? Perfect.

+ A family? Oh yes.

- Smokers? Sorry, definitely not inside the building.

- Pets? Not allowed at all, sorry.

- Hen or stag parties? No sorry, definitely not; this is a quiet residential building; so no noisy groups please.

-Easy arrival / check in, with keys held securely in a key-safe so you may arrive when it suits you, after 3pm, sometimes earlier.

You feel you are privileged to stay in a building such as this, which has a grand feel about it. The bathroom is the quirkiest I've ever seen.

Shops etc are only a stroll away and the walk into town is a delight, along leafy residential streets, through Royal Victoria Park, along the famous Royal Crescent and via the Circus to central Bath and all it's delights.

There are country side walks on the doorstep too.

The apartment has gas central heating and is mainly carpeted, with a tiled floor in the kitchen, and cushion floor in the master bathroom.

The master bedroom with en-suite bathroom is in it's own wing of the apartment, and so would be quiet for a child using the fifth bed, if they needed to be in bed earlier than the rest of the group.

We can provide the 5th extra fold up bed on request in this bedroom (or in the lounge).

The second bedroom can have twin beds, or these can be joined to make a comfortable king size double bed.

Please specify how you would like this arranged when booking.

There is not sufficient room to put the extra (fifth) bed in the second bedroom.

This room has an en-suite shower room, which is small, but has a loo and spacious shower.

The 5th fold-up bed is provided for occasional use (in the lounge or master bedroom) and linen (and towels) are provided for this bed, when required.

A childs travel cot can be provided too, on request, but you would need to provide your own linen for this please.

Note that access to a loo is only through either one of the bedrooms.

Kitchen: Stylish well fitted separate kitchen. Equipment includes, electric oven and gas hob with extractor fan, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, cafetiere and all the usual cooking utensils and pans etc. Nice views over Bath from it's windows.

Tumble dryer, ironing board, iron (and even soft water for the iron) and a hairdryer are all provided.

Living Room:

Spacious sunny lounge with lovely outlook, comfortable 2 and 3 seater sofas. WiFi, TV with DVD player, CD/radio, stereo with mP3/iPod etc. headphone plug connection.

A large round dining table that can seat 6.

This is a beautiful room with Georgian features that is very relaxing.

Hallway;

Pleasant wide entrance hallway connecting the various rooms, as befits the apartment.

Towels and linen;

Professionally laundered, quality cotton sheets, duvet covers, and towels are provided at the start of your stay, and changed weekly for longer stays.

Cleaning;

The property is professionally cleaned prior to your arrival, and weekly, with a linen change, for longer stays.

Amenities/Facilities:

Gas hob/stove electric oven fridge/freezer fridge microwave dishwasher washing machine small tumble dryer iron/ironing board Freesat TV internet access (ethernet & WiFi) central heating parking communal garden

Great Home Base

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our weeklong stay here and we found the flat to be spacious, well-appointed and quiet. We used the flat as a home base to explore Bath, Wells, Glastonbury, Stonehenge, etc.

We like the flexibility of having a car handy, and it was convenient to drive to the Charlotte Street Carpark in Bath and walk a short distance to the city center. We recommend the Bath Abbey tower tour with spectacular views of Bath and the surrounding countryside. The guided walking tour of Bath was also a pleasure. As others have mentioned, the Hare and Hounds has excellent pub fare and great views of the countryside below.

We didn’t try the separate clothes dryer in the flat, preferring to line dry our clothes with the provided drying rack. If we could change one thing, it would be to upgrade the mattresses. We didn’t find either bed particularly comfortable. Overall, we recommend this flat and would stay here again.

Weston Lodge

  • 5 of 5

Weston Lodge is a lovely quiet building in a very convenient location. It was everything we expected, very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Although the owner lives some distance away he was very attentive by email and we felt if we had any problems he would be quick to sort them out. This wasn't necessary as we had no problems!

We found the easiest way to get into Bath was to drive to the Lansdowne Park & Ride which is about 2 miles away. You leave the car there and get one of the very frequent buses for £3.30 return. Once in Bath we did both of the City Sightseeing tours which were very good value and very informative.

We had a nice meal at the Hare and Hounds pub on Lansdowne Road, it is worth going just for the amazing views.

We would definitely use this property again and would recommend it to friends.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review, and well done for finding the Hare and Hounds, which we really like too! Excellent food and service, to accompany the aforementioned view. I am surprised that you felt it easier to drive to the park and ride, rather than walk 200m to the nearby bus stop and catch a No 14 bus into Bath; they do come every 15 mins in the day and run until late at night. Ask for a Family Day Pass £8, which allows unlimited use of the frequent bus services around Bath for 2 adults and 3 children - a bargain. I am usually in Bath at the weekends, so can resolve any issues quite promptly and help with any queries over the phone. Jon

Good value and We would stay again!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay of 3 adults and two teenagers. Found the flat spacious, quiet, scenic, and with a good kitchen. They have comprehensive literature as to how to enjoy your stay. Owner is very responsive. The clothing dryer needed to be moved and set up by us as it was sitting in a place that was not useful with no outlets. We also found the second bathroom not too useful because of the set up. So we had 5 people using 1 bathroom our entire stay for showers, shaving and such.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review and I'm really pleased you liked Weston Lodge. The tumble dryer is placed in the bathroom, where there is room for it, and a window to allow it to vent through. You must have not seen the extension lead provided for it, with safety trip, that allows it to be used in this location. This is mentioned in the notes provided. There is one "bathroom" at Weston Lodge and it is the en-suite for the master bedroom. The second bedroom has a shower room en-suite, and this is the only shower in the apartment. This is all described in the listing, and I have no idea why you couldn't shave or bathe in the master bedroom's en-suite bathroom which is spacious and comfortable. Perhaps Americans should note that in the UK bathrooms actually have a bath! But not necessarily a loo, although at Weston Lodge both en-suites do have loos.

Lovely quiet flat in a suburb of Bath

  • 4 of 5

The flat was a great base for a family Christmas shopping weekend in Bath. It is well located and about 10 mins from the centre by car. There was plenty of space which was good as my 11 month nephew and his Dad could relax in the flat whilst we shopped. Jon is a good host and called to check the flat was warm enough (which it was).

Beautiful well presented georgian top floor flat.

  • 5 of 5

I have visited this accommodation on several occasions and yet again have enjoyed the stay. The flat offers a homely welcome with comprehensive literature as to how to make the best of your visit to Bath. The flat offers all you need to make your stay as relaxing as possible. Its become an annual event with more and more friends and family wishing to embrace the flat as an integral part of as a successful w/e away.

An excellent choice

  • 5 of 5

I can only reiterate the positive reviews. It is a lovely, quirky flat, very elegantly furnished, in quiet surroundings, not exactly central, but not far enough out to be nuisance. We should definitely book again if we returned to Bath as a foursome.
