3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with swimming pool complex on Whitsand Bay

The Lodge itself is large and extremely well equipped. It caters for 6. There are three bedrooms comprising two doubles and one twin and one en-suite shower room and one family bathroom with bath and shower. The Lodge is extremely light and has white wood ceilings throughout. The kitchen caters for cooks and non cooks alike. It's very well equipped but also has a dishwasher and microwave for lazy eating. Two ovens and a gas hob are also there for the chefs. There is a separate laundry area with washer dryer . Storage is not an issue with this Lodge as each room has a wardrobe and chest of drawers. This Lodge is a home and as such we want you to treat it as such. There is Internet, TV, DVD, CD and IPod docking and we provide many board games and books and magazines. There are even fishing nets and buckets and spades. It doesn't feel like a holiday home and stands out from the rest, as there are many pieces of art and other artifacts around, with good quality light fittings and adjustable light levels. The Lodge is on a prime site, sheltered and not overlooked. The twin sets of patio doors lead out to the raised deck area where a table and chairs are provided. Good quality bedlinen is supplied by the owner and should towels be needed they can be provided at extra cost.

If you fancy an evening or day to yourselves we offer babysitting by the lady who lives locally and manages our Lodge. You can pay her direct.

If you are getting married locally or attending a function then please enquire about what we can offer to make the stay special.

The site itself boasts very beautiful grounds and has weekly tours of the historic monument. It has a swimming pool and sauna on site and a bar/restaurant and small shop providing basic needs and newspapers. The reception desk is open daily and can help with local knowledge. The site is very secure and is reached through coded electric gates.

If you are thinking of taking a holiday in the sun then please check out our other property in the South of France, an old Bergerie 7 minutes from the Mediterranean beaches and 20 minutes to Perpignan and less than an hour to the Spanish border. It sleeps 6 in three bedrooms and has a vast lounge over 50ft long. It is surrounded by stone walls and has numerous terraces and small gardens.

The Lodge is in the most idyllic part of Cornwall with the best beaches just across the road. It's wild and untamed yet within 10 minutes drive you come to the beautiful villages of \Kingsand/Cawsand where you will find sheltered sandy coves and clear safe water for swimming.

What makes this chalet unique

The location for the Lodge has to be a big attraction with miles of coastline to chose from. Avoid the cars thundering through Cornwall and enjoy the peaceful setting on The Rame. It's not isolated though, as Plymouth, Looe and further afield are all within easy reach.

Peaceful short break

Lovely quiet site even in half term. The lodge is very well equipped and feels warm and homely. The views were amazing and it added to the sense of calm and tranquility that we felt.

We ate out in the vaults restaurant and the food was good, we could take the dog in but only as far as the bar, which was fine.

The beach opposite was a very steep walk down and up but well worth a visit. We also loved Kingsand and Cawsand, very quiet and quaint. We walked from Downderry along the beach to Seaton, lovely walk and very dog friendly.

Looe is also worth a visit but the main beach isn't dog friendly, it's worth taking a drive up to,the top by Looe Island as dogs are welcome there.

The only criticism I would have is that if you stay for less than a week you have to pay for the pool, we didn't use it but our 2 teenagers did.

The best logde

Das war die schönste Ferienunterkunft, die wir je hatten. Das Haus ist sehr hell und freundlich.

Unsere Kinder (13,12) hatten jeder ein eigenes Zimmer und unsere Schlafzimmer ein eigenes Bad.

Die Küche ist mit Spülmaschine, Herd, Mirkrowelle und vielen Kleingkeiten so toll ausgestattet, dass wir nie zum Essen gehen wollten. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gab es im Umkreis von 10 km genügend.

Die Besitzerin kümmerte sich umgehend um nicht funktionierende Sachen.

Wäre es nicht so weit zu fahren, würden wir auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

Owner's Response: ENGLISH TRANSLATION:That was the best holiday we've ever had. The house is very bright and friendly. Our children (13,12) each had their own room and our bedroom a private bathroom. The kitchen is beautifully appointed with dishwasher, stove, and many Mirkrowelle Kleingkeiten that we never wanted to go out to dinner. Shopping there were plenty in the radius of 10 km. The owner took care of immediately to non-working stuff. Would not it be to drive so far, we would definitely come again. Thank you so much for the lovely review. So nice to get.

Terrific holidy let!

The Lodge is brilliant - so great to stay somewhere that is furnished as a home with decent fixture and fittings! It's very comfortable with an eclectic, comfortable feel. The kitchen too is very well equipped, right down to a cocktail shaker, and there's a great selection of books for those quiet moments.

A five minute stroll brings you to the cliff top, and a good old fashioned, friendly cafe.

Paramount to making it a great place stay, was the excellent communication with the owner, who volunteered lots of useful information, so it all went very smoothly.

Highly recommended.

Make sure if you're arriving after hours, to you bring your own food and drink, there's no immediate shop.

Cawsand holiday log cabin on the Rame Peninsula, Cornwall.

Lodge 15 is situated on the wild and beautiful Rame Peninsula. Known as the Forgotten Cornwall, it's untamed beaches and countryside set it apart from the better known areas of Cornwall. No queues, no crowds and with some of the best sandy beaches in England. A climb down the winding cliff path and you are on the sand; to walk the dog, build a sandcastle or surf the fantastic sea. Just off the coast is a submerged boat used for diving excursions. Magical rockpools offer up untold treasures to small nets. Surrounded by National Trust land and situated on a designated ancient monument, the Lodge has amazing views across the hills and over to Plymouth Sound. Watch the sun come up over the hills and stream into the living room and sip a chilled glass of wine on the sundeck as it sets. We are perfectly placed to explore. Visit The Eden Project, Plymouth by car or short ferry (great fun), the lovely fishing port of Looe and the nearby villages of Kingsand/Cawsand, with their twisting turning lanes clinging to the bay. A real sense of community exists here, and it's lively in summer with people sitting out around the very decent pubs, some of which have really good food. Historic houses abound including nearby Port Eliot, the Grade 1 listed mansion, owned by the 10th Earl of St Germans which came into the family's hands in 1565.

The stunning Tamar Valley is close to hand and the famous moors of Dartmoor and Bodmin are well worth a visit to watch the wild ponies and extraordinary scenery.

Lodge 15 is available from 3pm on the day of arrival and departure is at 10am. Other check in arrangements can sometimes be arranged t. The price includes all bed linen and changeover clean. Extra maid service can be provided, please inquire for rates. A deposit is required to hold the booking and full payment is requested 42 days prior to the holiday start date.

Notes:
The communal leisure facility has a heated indoor pool and also a sauna area. We always endeavour to leave loo rolls, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets and salt. for our guests. In addition there is a selection of dried herbs, salt and pepper and basic cooking ingredients. There is a very good old style grocers and cafe in Millbrook and there is abundant fresh fish and a good butchers as well as supermarkets within reach.
