About the property

Crabapple Cottage - a cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

Crabapple Cottage is a newly built flint and brick cottage (February 2012) finished to a very high standard. The cottage is designed in a period style and combines character with modern fittings. It occupies a delightful semi-rural spot at the end of a farm lane, with paddocks and farmland all round.

The comfortable accommodation will easily house four people, with a double bedroom on the ground floor along with a super en-suite shower room. There is a twin room on the first floor, along with a bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped with modern fittings including a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer and microwave. The living and dining area is open plan to the kitchen, making it ideal for families to enjoy together. There is a lovely conservatory off the living room, which overlooks the private garden area. There is WiFi internet access available at the cottage.

There are 3 other similar cottages on the site and so larger groups may be able to be accommodated with the rental of more than one of the cottages.

Guestbook comments from the manager

"We were very impressed by the accommodation in this cottage. The kids even had their private bathroom with separate bath! What mattered most to me personally was the availability of WiFi. We've had our share of vacation destinations that had it advertised but feel short, but not here. Worked without a hitch. Made it so much easier to plan our day trips."

Location

Car: recommended

Barnham is a very lively village with an good selection of shops and restaurants, as well as a mainline station to Brighton/London/Chichester. There is also excellent access to the main A27 so that places such as Chichester (8 miles), Goodwood (7 miles) and Portsmouth (25 miles) are within easy driving distance.

There is an excellent beach at Climping, only about 4 miles distant, and the beautiful and historic town of Arundel is situated just to the east. There are so many places to visit in the area, both of historic interest and also of scenic interest. HMS Victory at the historic dockyard in Portsmouth is a popular tourist attraction, as is Spinnaker Tower (also in Portsmouth), which has wonderful views.

There is horse racing at both Fontwell and Goodwood and Chichester has the internationally renowned Festival Theatre. Some of the best beaches in the area are to be found near Barnham, with West Wittering being one example. If all you want to do is relax and go for long country walks, there are footpaths all round the immediate vicinity.
