This tiny home is a clean, fun little cottage that makes the perfect home base for your hiking or biking trip to southern Utah. It has one bedroom and one bathroom. The space is small but cozy. This home started out, generations ago, as a cabin for the Park Rangers of Zion National Park. In the 90's it was physically moved to Hurricane, Ut where it served as a vacation home for an elderly couple for many years. In early 2017 it officially opened as a vacation rental where, for the first time in three decades, you can stay in one of these historic Ranger Cabins. The outside is still original but the inside has been totally remodeled.

My name is Jed Stout. I grew up in southern Utah and just love this place! I live just a few miles from this home. I love to hike and mountain bike. I'm happy to answer questions about local trails and activities so please call me during your stay if you'd like ideas.
Jed purchased this Cottage in 2005
Why Jed chose Hurricane
My wife and I fell in love with this little home in the year 2003 when we were shopping for our own first home. We weren't able to get it at that time but when it became available in 2005 we didn't hesitate to purchase it. We rented it out for 12 years but with this new remodel finished, we wanted to offer it to vacation renters visiting the area. This home has the perfect blend of old historic features with new remodeled cleanliness.
What makes this Cottage unique
The very old history of this cottage makes it a lot of fun. It's a great little honeymoon getaway or an easy place to relax for hikers and bikers visiting the area for the first time.

Feels like home!
We felt right at home as soon as we walked in. It was cold outside but the cabin was already warm. So many small details make it feel like home. Everything needed for a comfortable stay. Our family we came to visit ended up visiting us everyday because it was so quaint and cozy 😀
Perfect--Cozy and Quaint
This cabin was perfect for our 2-day visit to Zion National Park. The drive to Zion was beautiful and only took 20-25 minutes. The cabin was just perfect for us. We enjoyed coffee and breakfast each morning before going the park. Each evening we came back to enjoy dinner and happy hour. The cabin had a warm feeling.
Although the outside of the cabin has a rustic look, it doesn't do justice to the interior. The space, furniture, decor, and amenities met and exceeded our expectations.
Perfect for a family of four or a couple.
Trip to Zion NP
It's a great little cottage. Very clean inside. Bed is very comfortable. Kitchen, bathroom and living area were fine for what we needed (we spent most of the time in Zion). 20 minutes from Springdale/Zion. Loved the information, especially about the cottage itself, that the owners provided.
Rental perfection! Loved the place. Would not hesitate to rent it again.
This place was perfect for us. Easy to find. Funky exterior (former Zion ranger cabin relocated to Hurricane) but immaculate, extremely well-provisioned and nicely remodeled recently. Great off-street parking. Easy check-in. The little kitchen was scrupulously supplied with everything you could ever need for meal prep. The shower was lovely. The water was hot. The tap water tasted great. The mini-splitters kept the place well cooled. The bed mattress (which with age we have gotten fussy about) was firm and extremely comfortable. The ride into this real town with real services, including a very helpful optician, was 2 minutes away. The ride to Zion was about 22 miles away which at first seemed too far until we took in the marvelous scenic drive to and from Hurricane including the must-see La Verkin overlook off a dirt road across from the Hurricane Airport which sits atop a prominent Mesa above the roads.
The owners’ instruction manual to renters was real helpful: tons of tips on local resources including an exhausting list of mountain biking routes nearby. We took their recommendation and had breakfast at the River Rock Cafe overlooking the Virgin River gorge in Hurricane and the food was tops. We also ate at Oscars in Springdale and cannot say enough about the food, the ambience and the beers (try the Evolution Amber Ale or the Polygamy Porter- yes, where else but in Utah!)
All in all, in every detail, we loved this “find” and we thank Jed and Nicole for great advice and clear instructions about procedures and commonly asked questions.
Great for Visiting Zion
Conveniently located ~30 min outside of the park entrance. The cottage includes everything you need to make yourself comfortable during your stay, including a washer/dryer, air conditioning, full oven and stove, microwave, large selection of pots and pans, toiletries, charcoal grill, full size fridge/freezer, etc. Grocery store is just a few minutes away. Very clean and fresh. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay near Zion.
Great little gem in Hurricane
My 2 daughters and I stayed here while we enjoyed our last few days of summer break before school started back. It was extremely clean and nicely located and convenient to shopping and restaurants. It was not a bad drive at all into Zion. Our only complaint was the microwave. The glass tray inside didn’t fit well and as it would begin to spin it would get knocked off track which would either cause a mess or your food would be unevenly heated. Other then that our experience was a wonderful one. Thank you Jed!!
We're glad you had a great time! I did find the problem with the microwave and got that fixed. (One of the little wheels was bad.) Thanks for the heads-up on that. Come stay again anytime you're in the Zion area!
This home is within walking distance of two parks, several restaurants and a movie theater. It is just a short 10 minute drive from the world famous JEM trail where you will find some of the best mountain biking around. This is a great central location between Zion national park (25 minutes) and St. George (20 minutes).
