Villa Galini is a very spacious villa, ideal for large groups or families.
On entering the house, just off the entrance hallway, there is a very large, well equipped kitchen with dining table. A traditional style window hatch is neatly designed in the wall to open onto the main dining area in the lounge next door, accessed via the hallway. The open plan lounge area itself is combined with the dining room and is elegantly furnished with dark wood dining furniture, comfy sofas and smart furnishings and is set off by a large fireplace, for use in the cooler months. From here, patio doors lead out to a veranda overlooking the beautiful pool area and there are steps leading down to the pool. A perfect spot to sit and enjoy refreshing evening drinks after a lazy day in the sun.
Located on the ground floor are three more bedrooms, two twin and one large double, all with en suite bathrooms and balconies or verandas. An attractive staircase leads up from the dining area onto a small gallery landing on the upper floor, from where patio doors open up onto a large private veranda. A perfect spot for relaxing in the sun or to watch ships cruising by in the distance. Away from the other bedrooms, this floor also houses the master bedroom with an iron four poster bed, en suite bathroom and closet.
There is a barbecue and outside dining area and sunbeds around the pool. There is also a spacious parking area for your convenience.
The villa is certainly large enough for big groups, is in a great location on top of a hill and has stunning views - however, luxury it is not. There are 4 bedrooms and bathrooms, all of which need updating as a matter of some urgency. The interior decor is a bit strange, dark and dowdy. The upstairs bedroom has bars on the windows and the canopy over the bed hasn't been cleaned for years by the look of it, it was dirty - the view is excellent once you look through the bars. There were 7 of us and we could only shower 1 at a time otherwise the water supply stopped at other showers and the shower in the upstairs bathroom only dribbled out water and 1 of the downstairs toilets didn't flush - we did tell the owner about the toilet and the plumber came and did a temporary fix but never returned with a new cistern the next day. (the owner emailed to say we were out when they came - but we were there all day). The outside furniture is well past its sell buy date, quite a few chairs were dangerous and broken. Some of the sun loungers were ripped and there are no umbrellas (well 1 which didn't go up) although there were holes where I think they must have been in the past. I do not recommend for families with young children, too many health and safety issues. The property was cleaned twice whilst we were there, it was to an OK standard although they weren't there long for a big property and they didn't touch the kitchen which is also outdated - although well equipped. The dishwasher we tried once, the crockery came out smelling really bad, so we washed by hand the rest of the week. The garden needs some attention and a lot of the plants were dead as they hadn't been watered. The beach towels turned up with the cleaners on day 3, so don't rely on them being there. Overall, this could be, with quite a bit of updating a luxury property, it certainly isn't to that standard now. We wouldn't go back to the villa and don't recommend it, but Kassiopi is delightful and we would go back there - try Porto Restaurant by the harbour - fantastic food and really friendly staff.
In Kassiopi you really can have it all …the charm of a former fishing village, the choice of several pebble beaches, the chance to dine on the catch of the day, and places to party the night away.
With its toes in the clear blue Ionian Sea and the slopes of Pandokator at its back, Kassiopi can be a coastal base for country walks, a swim in the spectacular Ionian Sea, or both. Whatever you're doing you'll have many bars and restaurants to choose from, gift shops for browsing and buying, and a string of pebble shores so you can chill in peace or get wet water-skiing. The little harbour is the waterfront hub. The main square forms the focal point within the village. And the tempo rises after dark......
