About Sue Bradbury
The property is owned by myself Sue, my husband Richard and my sister Helen. We all really enjoy walking and exploring the Peak District with our dogs and wanted a holiday cottage to share this area with others. One a day to day basis the cottage is managed by me. We want to give our guests a real home from home experience. The cottage is well equipped with maps and there is an information booklet about the area and things to do and see, along with games and DVD's for any time spent by the fire.
Sue Bradbury purchased this Cottage in 2018
Why Sue Bradbury chose Matlock
We have all been thoroughly charmed by Wirksworth. It is a small market town but punches well above its weight in terms of activities throughout the year. It has a village feel but with plenty of pubs, cafes and small independent shops along with a regular market. It is positioned in the Derbyshire Dales on the edge of the Peak District National Park so the walking and cycling is heavenly and it is well placed for exploring both areas.

Walking break
Comfortable property. Extremely well kept and equipped.Very quiet peaceful location. We were able to relax. Wirksworth a short and enjoyable walk away. I think this cottage would be enjoyable in winter or summer. The garden is small but lovely. Many great walks and cycle routes nearby. Good food in Wirksworth and Cromford.
Thank you Sue. Glad you enjoyed your stay. It was a pleasure to meet you.
Derbyshire delight
Warmest welcome by Sue. Every need catered for.
Excellent
Lovely cottage in a beautiful area, lovely few days away
Wirksworth
Fantastic location with on site parking space. Lovely cottage extremely clean with everything we needed for a great holiday experience
Thanks for the kind comments. It was an absolute pleasure to host you both.
Stunning cottage
The cottage was clean and well presented. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking implements but a microwave would have been handy. Getting in and out of the parking space would be tricky with a larger car, between the car opposite and trying not to run over the pole. It was an easy walk down into Wirksworth and not too far up to the High Peak Trail. It was a lovely cottage in a great location. Sue responded very quickly when I messaged her.
Thanks Faye
Wirksworth break
This is a great little cottage, everything clean and modern inside, but still retaining the character of the age of the property. Location is ideal, you can hop on to the High Peak Trail within a 10 min walk. The rear garden is safe for dogs, being fenced all around, and Wirksworth itself is only 15 mins walk, and has some good dog friendly pubs.
Location
Recent reviews of Wirksworth state - Wirksworth is a lovely town set in fabulous countryside. Much is made (quite rightly) of the history and heritage of the town and its successful annual arts festival. Wirksworth's well kept secret is that nearly all of the shops, watering holes and eateries remain independent. The town supports a micro brewery, quality Tuesday market and a monthly farmers market (1st Sat of the month). Very friendly and interesting town to visit.
