Needs some attention but had a great time
I've been going to this hotel since I was little and love it. As soon as I saw this deal(almost a thousand dollars cheaper than booking through the hotel) I instantly booked it especially with a full kitchen. Some things to know...you get one set of towels and linens for the whole week and no housekeeping. You also have to take care of your own trash which we had no idea where to take it and get your own toilet paper, hand soap, body wash, shampoo etc. I was fully aware of this but wanted to clarify. Also THERE IS A WASHER/DRYER combo in the closet. I read another review that said there was so I called them to verify and they said no but there is. We didn't use it but did power it on and it worked. Since the hotel requires a room key(this particular room uses a key code to gain access not a key card) to gain access to the pools etc. we were confused as to what we were supposed to do. There is no mention of this after booking but there is a small box in the room on the wall with two "Splash Pass" key cards inside that give you access.
Now to the upgrades/issues. The balcony door is hard as he** to open and especially to close. The mattresses seem to be extremely old, noisy, and aren't very comfortable to me but I slept well enough. New mattresses and sheets would make a HUGE difference. There's stains all over the ceiling so a simple paint job would fix this. Actually, an entire room paint job would be ideal.
We had a great time and loved the discount and hotel. You don't go to the beach to sit in the room anyway! I would stay here again if I had the chance
We are glad you had a great experience and we will let the owner know about
updates if they have not done them already.
We would love to have you back to the beach and would like to offer you with
10%OFF next time you book one of our properties.
The room was an okay place to stay for the 3 nights . The room was not compatible with the hotel.
We were pleased to find the room in a presentable state. The further we stayed at the room, however, the more we didn't quite like the amenities that were available.
Upon arriving, we were greeted by the hotel's amazing director of maintenance. He was so hospitable and warned us that we should have gotten a room through the actual hotel and not the private room. He was right. The room was okay, but we learned that we could not buy anything from the resort or use anything except for the pool and the room. Everything else was off limits.
We were surprised to see a washing/drying machine in the closet, but we had no soap to operate it.
The dishes were nice for food and things. The curtains were hard to operate and came off the track, and the beds were very firm and the linens had what appeared to be blood stains. The couches also had dust mites, which made us break out and fear that they may be bed bugs. (We will wash our sheets extra just in case.)
The room did have a very nice view of the ocean from its private balcony, which was a huge plus. We were able to see some private fireworks and beach view.
Lastly, the toilet didn't flush properly. In order to operate it, the handle had to be held down. I couldn't use the toilet there and had to use the toilet in the lobby.
The TV included was great, and had we stayed longer we would have fully taken advantage of the cable provided.
For what it's worth, we enjoyed our stay because we kept busy in Myrtle Beach, but the room was below average.
Thank you for providing us a cheaper place to stay for our honeymoon.
The room was clean but you could not use the restaurant, the gift shop, or coffee shop. WE had trouble with tv. The sliding door was hard to open.
