In the historical center of Venice, close to San Marco Square and the Biennale Garden, inside the magical web of streets that connect Riva degli Schiavoni to Arsenal, you find 'Al Pestrin', your home in Venice. It is equipped with internet wi-fi. It has a fully equipped kitchen, living room with sofa/bed and pouf/bed, bathroom with tub, washer and dryer, double bedroom, single bedroom with extra bed. Al Pestrin is well served by supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, shops, banks, baccari (the typical Venetian bars) etc. It is a delightful apartment, bright because it is the 3 rd floor (no elevator), and from its windows you can enjoy a splendid view of the altane, terraces built wooden blinds on the roofs.

About Claudia Bacchi
I have a degree in Architecture. My profession is journalist. I love to travel.
Why Claudia Bacchi chose Castello
It was the apartment in which my husband lived before marriage.
What makes this Apartment unique
It 's very bright and very close to Piazza San Marco and the Biennale Gardens. In the morning and in the evening, you can watch the magnificent spectacle of sunrise and sunset along the Riva degli Schiavoni, with the sun rising from the east and sets in the west reflecting on the water of the lagoon.

Well positioned apartment, quiet but close to the Piazza San Marco
The apartment was clean and a reasonable size with a comfortable double bed in the main bedroom. It was well-equipped, although surprisingly there were no wine glasses (at least none we could find). There are 48 steps to climb, so not suitable for anyone with mobility problems.
It was an easy walk down to Piazza San Marco and the busy tourist areas. However, walking in the opposite direction, towards the gardens, it was much quieter and there were a number of restaurants and snack bars offering more traditional Venetian food. (Try salvmeria in the Via Garibaldi.)
We had a few niggles. There was no washing up liquid provided, which we would have expected, and a rather meagre supply of loo paper. So be warned! Bath towels were on the small side and not at all soft. The single bed in the second bedroom was not very comfortable and on a slight slant (because the floors are not absolutely horizontal).
However, that said, it was a good place to stay and reasonably priced.
Location is fabulous. Great neighborhood ! Apt a bit sparse . No dish soap or face or bath soap. No garbage bags. Hot water kettle was dirty and had nothing to clean it with. Tv remote needs new batteries
Very spacious apartment.
I loved this location! We had trouble getting there at first because there are more streets in venice with the same name. The vrbo directions were wrong. Claudia was very responsive and helpful. She did send very detailed info prior to my arrival but i was already traveling Europe for 2 weeks and didn't see it. Dont use the vrbo directions!
The apartment is close enough to San Marcos with plenty of food options along the way. The vaparettos were close by to go to murano and beuno.
There are lots of stairs, but I enjoyed the exercise. Claudia's neighbor that helps with the check in process is super sweet. With the shutters closed, the room is nice and dark if you're not an early riser.
My only complaints are that there was no bath soap for us and only 1 roll of toilet paper for 6 people for 3 nights.
We hope to stay again in the near future!
The apartment is comfortable and spacious.
We were surprised that there was no soap in the bathroom. The quality of the towels could use improvement.
It is close to many attractions but in a fairly quiet neighbourhood.
If you have a heavy bag you will have to carry it up several floors!
The area was charming and filled with marvelous restaurants that we haven't discovered on previous visits.......while there were the usual tourist places one only had to look to find where the locals had cappuccini and where they shopped for meat and produce.......the apartment was bright and spacious and had all the cooking utensils needed if you wanted to shop at the butcher downstairs (who had delicious EVERYTHING).........the bed was comfortable and living area perfect.......the wifi always worked and sofa was comfortable.........drying racks for clothes after a morning run down to St. Elena island along Schiavioni..........plenty of towels and linens and Nadia greeted us with warmth and efficiency.......
Great value & location, reliable WIFI and AC
I stayed here with four other girls during a study abroad trip for 6 weeks. It met our needs, and had reliable AC/internet. It was about a five minute walk from the Arsenale stop, and was not extremely crowded with tourists. Claudia was out of the country when we stayed, but she made sure we had a contact in Venice that could help us. The contact was very responsive, and fixed our AC right away when it did not work. While the property does sleep five, it is better suited for a maximum of four if you plan on staying for a long time like I did. Communication with Claudia herself could have been a little better in the beginning, but overall I cannot complain! If I ever needed to live in Venice again, I would consider booking the place again.
Central but quiet, because in a street outside the noisy of domestic tourists, the apartment is located in one of the oldest area of Venice, where you meet venetians more than tourists. If you walk along Riva degli Schiavoni, fantastic when the lagoon is illuminated by the morning sun, and go to the Gardens of the Biennale, encounters the picturesque Via Garibaldi, very Venetian and unknown to the mass tourism, , which is typical for its restorants, its local market and the oldest fish shops. I advise you to have breakfast there in one of its many cafes. However, if you go to Piazza San Marco (you reach really in 10 minutes), you immerse yourself in the best-known Venice which needs no introduction. If you try an alternative way to visit the city, you can miss you inside the labyrinth of quiet and peaceful calli (streets) wandering aimlessly: every corner reserves a surprise. If you fear this adventurous lightness, you can follow your guide. Fortunately, no guide will protect you from the possibility of losing you, and if it happens, you should support it.
