“La description du logement était tout à fait exacte : la villa est très spacieuse et la piscine un ravissement pour petits et grands. La villa est située à l'écart de la ville de Silves ... pas de voisin hormis les propriétaires qui habitent juste à côté en cas de besoin. Silves est une ville pleine de charme. ”
"The description of the accommodation was quite accurate: the villa is very spacious and the pool a delight for young and old." The villa is located away from the city of Silves... no neighbours except owners who live just next needed. Silves is a city full of charm. ”
Dear Susie, Casa Bela Vista was the most amazing villa we have ever stayed in. It is actually more like a small boutique hotel than a holiday villa! The gardens were an absolute joy, so much space and fantastic views. We enjoyed eating outside by the pool or under the gazebo, the outside lighting made it possible to spend hours outside in the evenings. The pool is massive and gets the sun all day. The villa is secluded so there was absolute peace and quiet and we didn't need to worry about making noise ourselves, not that we did much. The villa itself is intriguing, full of antiques and beautiful old furniture, yet has been tastefully decorated and arranged so that it looks "fashionably old", not like a musty stately home. The games room kept us amused for hours, with the pool table, the multi gym and the drum kit! Your list of local restaurants and places to explore was absolutely invaluable, we ended up in wonderful places we would never have discovered without it. There are some excellent restaurants nearby. We didn't finish working our way through the list and will definitely be back this year to find out what else is in store! The Welcome Pack and your helpful staff all helped make it the perfect holiday. Thank you so much! Stephen
Don't be put off by the slightly unflattering photographs which make this villa look very angular; it's certainly an unusual villa but the exterior masks a villa of rare quality, filled with authentic Portugese features and a good deal of comfort. The swimming pool is large and and easily accessible, with steps in the shallow end and a 2 metre depth at the deep end, and stays in the sunshine for most of the day.
There are so many rooms in this villa we felt a bit lost for the first day. The garden is extensive and well kept; the outside of the villa is separated into the pool area and a barbecue / seating area, both with excellent lighting so evening dinners can carry on as late as you like. The owner lives nearby, but stays well out of the way unless you need help - apart from the owner next door the villa is at least a hundred yards from the next dwelling. There are two large tables outside which each can accommodate eight or more people eating, one by the pool (with a small outdoor kitchen with oven and freezer nearby) and one next to an effective concrete barbecue. The bedrooms are large and comfortable (although be aware the Portugese do like their mattresses pretty solid which can take some getting used to) and the air conditioning units are a godsend if the temperature rises. There are several bathrooms all of a high quality.
You will find the nearest town of Silves has all the facilities you could need. It's too far to walk, but just five minutes away in a car. Beaches on the Algarve are about a twenty minute drive away; we found some nice ones near Porches, not too busy. If you do stay here, don't miss out on a trip to Monchique. the views over the Algarve are astonishing.
I can recommend a nearby restaurant "O Barrados" - a little way out into the country, five minutes drive in a car and food and service of the highest quality.
The full size pool table in the games room is excellent, and the TV facilities are also very good for those older members of parties who like their English soaps!
We were well looked after during our stay.
This is a spacious, peaceful, high quality villa well suited to family groups who like to make their own entertainment rather than spend time in nightclubs. We had a thorougly good holiday here and recommend it very highly.
Located in a tranquil location on a private Algarve hillside, this stunning villa with private gardens and pool is just minutes away from the beautiful ancient town of Silves with it's ancient red stone castle, cathedral and architecture steeped in history, as well as an array of restaurants, bars, shops and supermarkets. You can wander the quaint cobbled streets, visit the market and try one of the many cafés, bars or restaurants. If you travel a little further out of town, in many local villages a three course meal with wine can be bought for around 10 euros!
Silves also benefits from a fabulous public indoor heated swimming pool with gymnasium, sauna and various excercise and aerobic classes.
Slightly further afield is the Monchique mountain, the highest point in the Algarve, with fantastic views and traditional restaurants.
The nearest beaches are Armação de Pera or Carvoeiro which are just 10 to 15 mins by car, with hundreds of other Algarve beaches all very close. This particular stretch of coastline is dramatically beautiful, certainly the best in the Algarve and contains probably the best clifftop walks to be had anywhere in the world, perfect for those who enjoy walking, hiking or rambling.
There are a selection of golf courses nearby, including the Silves Pestana course, and the famous Amendoeira Golf course which is the largest in Europe, with bowling and fitness centre among it's many facilities.
Other nearby golf courses include the Pestana and Gramacho courses at Lagoa, and Morgado set in the Monchique mountain.
Two big water parks ,Slide & Splash and Aqualand are within 15 minutes drive and Zoomarine for the whole family is 20 minutes drive. Algarve Shopping Centre at Guia, just 25 minutes drive away offers great High Street shops, cinemas and restaurants.
For the more adventurous the villa is ideally located for horse riding, cycling, golf, tennis or walking. Babysitting service is available upon request.
Faro airport is 35 mins east by car, and in our opinion car hire is essential, although Silves Gare station is just 1km away where you can catch a train to anywhere in the Algarve. The nearest towns after Silves are 4km to Lagoa, and 10km to Carvoeiro.
