equipped Chess Cottage sleeps 4 in two bedrooms. The cottage is set on
a wonderful and very picturesque working farm close to the Wales/
Herefordshire Borders and within easy reach of Hay-on-Wye, Hereford and
Leominster. Everything in the cottage has been personally chosen, is
tasteful and useful with many items hand-crafted by the owner. The
owners are charming and they are happy to take guests for guided tours
of the farm and are help with itineries to ensure visitors can enjoy
the best tea shops and craft shops, gardens and walks not to be missed.
You are guaranteed a lovely warm welcome - and the owner was voted
"Best AA Land Lady of the Year"! Nearby Kinnersley Arms serves
The kitchen is well equipped with an electric cooker with a microwave,
a dishwasher, fridge and a freezer and a washing machine.
The dining/sitting area has lovely sofas and chairs with "designer
fabrics", a dining table and chairs, TV with Freeview and DVD.
Upstairs to two bedrooms:
Bedroom 1: A bedroom with a double bed, whb and a door with granary
steps and a small balcony with views down across the garden and to the
Bedroom 2: A second bedroom with a gorgeous superking sized bed (can be
full size twin beds on request with the owner) and handbasin in the
corner of the room.
The bathroom has a walk in shower, handbasin and toilet.

Beautifully kept gardens
The gardens are very special, a herb garden where visitors can help
themselves and a vegetable garden again that the owner allows visitors
to use the produce in season - the one acre gardens are beautifully
kept and laid out with a new Knot Garden recently designed and planted.
The vegetable garden is very productive with a range of fruit and
vegetables. There is a fig tree, pear tree, three eating apple trees,
damson, mulberry, quince, cooking apple tree and cherry trees all
providing beautiful blossom and produce.
Plenty to see and do
Close by Kinnersley with its unique castle is on The Black and White
Tudor House village trail with the many tea shops and galleries. Only
30 minutes from Ludlow with its impressive castle and of course foodie
heaven, perfect for a day visit. Five minutes from the Welsh Border
and 10 miles to Hay-on-Wye, famous for the Literary Festival, antique
shops. Kington, Offa's Dyke Path, The Golden Valley, Ross and Wye and
The Wye Valley are all within easy reach making this a great place to
stay to enjoy both Wales and England and The Welsh Marches. Hereford
with its wonderful Cathedral and Mappa Mundi is only 15 minutes drive.
Brecon and The Brecon Beacons National Park along with The Black
Mountains are 25 minutes.
Leominster with its many antique shops, Victorian market and more is
less than 15 minutes.
