We purchased the farm house in 2006 and slowly and lovingly, sympathetically to tradition, restored it over the years. The old barn has been converted into 2 gites, which are now available for rental.
What initially attracted us to the area was a love of the outdoors, as we are keen walkers. The flora and fauna is amazing and views to die for. It was love at first sight.
Early retirement from the teaching profession has enabled us to divide our time between France and England.
ANDREW DARE purchased this apartment in 2006
The gites are popular both with families and couples.Guests return for the tranquility that this setting affords.
For walkers the St Jacques de Compostelle passes the house and there is easy access to numerous walks and trails straight from the house without the need to drive. The house offers stunning views of the nearby Ardeche mountains from the terrace.
For us the house is unique, set in a medieval village, fantastic walking, stunning scenery and restaurants to die for all on our doorstep. We are sure that you will fall in love with it too!
This property is clean, tidy and very well equipped, both inside and in the communal shared area outside, where you can enjoy the stunning views whilst eating your meals. The property is fantastically situated for walking with well signposted walks starting from the village and the selection of local tourist information books provided mean that you are easily able to explore the area on foot or by car. This is a beautiful area of France and whether you want towns, cities, lakes or fishing, they are all on your doorstep. We found Andrew and Sue very welcoming and perfect hosts, always happy to give suggestions of places to visit . We loved our stay and have already booked for 2015.
Received a warm welcome from friendly and helpful owners. Accommodation spotlessly clean and well maintained. Particularly liked the outside space and views from the large, well furnished terrace. Excellent base for walking and other outdoor pursuits. Had a great holiday and will definitely go again. Would definitely recommend.
The gite is located in a beautifully restored old farmhouse set in the medieval rural village of Roche-en-Regnier at 900 metres. There are wonderful views of the Ardeche mountains and the St Jacques de Compostelle walking trail passes directly in front of the house. Walk from the front door into beautiful unspoilt countryside. Wildlife abounds. Peace and tranquillity and sense of bygone days.
