Great family holiday

  • 5 of 5

Allan the owner was a pleasure to deal with from the start his communication was first class and nothing was too much trouble for him.

When we arrived we were met by Ben who is the local guy who deals with the property, he has a wealth of knowledge about the area he can share with you.

Boulogne -sur-gesse is about a ten minute drive away where you will find a couple of restaurants and supermarkets, there is a market in the town on a Wednesday which is worth a visit,

The area is rural and very relaxing with some spectacular views.

The house as everything has advertised and more, and the outside space and pool were well used for great enjoyment.

Once again a special thanks to Ben who couldn't do enough for us .

See you again ( hopefully soon)

Very relaxing vacation home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the villa for 8 weeks and had a great time! Our families and friends joined us and the house easily accommodates up to 3 families - 15 people without any problems. There were plenty of toys for the children to play with, the pool being the favourite, of course!

There were plenty of sunflower fields around, especially in mid-late July. Biking in the area is very beautiful and the owner kindly provided us with lots of bikes. We used up the internet quota a couple of times and this was quickly resolved. Just a note of caution - don't forget to turn off all the automated updates - iCloud, iPhotos, dropbox, etc before you connect your phones or computers!

If you have children who are interested in pony riding, don't forget to check out http://www.lesfarfadets.online.fr, which is about 15 minutes away in Escanecarbe. Our girls also enjoyed the N'Co Park Aventure http://ncopark.com, 30 minutes away and has courses for both adults and children (3+ and up). We also used the house as a base to tour the surrounding area - the Pyrenees are about 1.5-2 hours away (a must do), Carcassonne is about 3 hours away and Barcelona is 5 hours away.

We would highly recommend M.Young's place for anyone looking for a relaxing and fun vacation.

Wonderful family villa - beautiful country

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at this villa. Our two families consist of 6 kids and they couldn't have been happier with everything. The weather was nice and the kids enjoyed the heated pool, playground and my son's favorite was driving the "tractor" around the spacious lawn. The house had plenty of room and a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed playing games in the barn and family meals in the evening at the outdoor seating area. We ventured out a few times to nearby towns but mostly just enjoyed family and the scenery at the villa. There is also ruins for an old fortress within walking distance that made for a nice walk. We would definitely return to this house.

Everything you needed from a great holiday

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful and comfortable house set in an friendly village, it is the most relaxing break that anybodycould wish for. This is a big property that easily accommodated our party of five. he layout worked well for us, the kitchen/dinner was spacious enough for all the family to help with the cooking and eat inside, although the majority of nights were spent at a large table situatued outside as our focal point for gathering to eat and socialise. The house benefits from fabulous, uninterpreted views of the rural surroundings from the garden area and the pool is an excellent size to laze around if you are so inclined whilst the children play. The upstairs of the accompanying barn has comfortable sofa's to spend quiet nights reading or listening to music but also for games such as table tennis or playing cards to entertain all. Alot of thought and care has been put into the presentation of the house and the facilities that it offers families with children of all ages, aswell as couples that may want a spacious break with friends is excellent. I would definitely recommend it as a relaxing place to stay and plan a return trip. A car is essential as Boulogne-Sur-Gesse is about a 10 minute drive away where you will find the market, shops and supermarkets. The house is in a good location for either a quiet holiday or visiting the surrounding sights of the area, and the hous hosts maps and brochures of near attractions. The size of the house meant everybody could do their own thing, meeting up again for a lazy lunch or dinner in the evening. The house is comfortable and furnished to match the style of the property. All mod cons as is a good collection of consol games and English DVD's and books, washing machine and a lovely cooking range. The house is surrounded by its own gardens and grounds ensuring peace and privacy as well as fun. The owners are friendly and know the area extremely well, sharing their recommendations for trips, restaurants and activities for all ages. I will certainly be going back and recommending this property and area to my friends and family.

The house is in the village of Lespugue, a small village near Bolougne Sur Gesse, about 80km from Toulouse airport. It is a farming village and very rural. This is a real community where you will be made to feel very welcome, especially if you have children. There are around 20 houses in the village. There is almost no traffic through the village. Driving around the whole region is a pleasure. There are endless possibilities for traffic free and varied cycling directly from the village.

There is a small church, a little museum dedicated to the statue of venus found in the village and now in the Louvre. The museum serves drinks outside in the summer on a typically ah hoc basis. The scenery around the village is simply stunning, rolling farmland giving way to views of the Pyrenees.

There are ruins of the old chateau on the edge of the village and one of Europe's best preserved Roman Villa's a few kilometres away.

The nearest shops are in Blajan about 4km away where you will find a lovely bakers and a cafe/post office/shop.

About 9km away is Bolougne Sur Gesse which has a range of supermarkets, a fabulously local Wednesday market and a couple of swimming lakes.

The Pyrenees are around 45 minutes away and offer unlimited possibilities for hiking, cycling and outdoor sports and adventure sports.
