A stunning property in a beautiful location. We are already planning our trip back!
Wonderful home in Five Islands
Do not hesitate to rent this home. The location is awesome, home very clean and comfortable and the owner was excellent to work with. He was quick to answer questions and very caring about our stay. We will be back!
Beautiful and peaceful
I can’t say enough good things about our experience! The house was so charming and cozy. I went on a girls’ retreat there with my sister, sister in law, and their two teenage daughters. From waking up to the beauty of the harbor and the fall foliage out our bedroom windows to watching movies in the cozy living room at night while eating popcorn and drinking hot chocolate, every minute was perfect! We explored the paths and beaches nearby, as well as the nearby towns. The beauty of Reid State Park in the fall is indescribable. The house was a wonderful backdrop for all our activities. Loved the kitchen, the adorable attic bedroom and the pretty decorating choices. The house was spotlessly clean and therev were plenty of linens. Michael was a dream to work with. I can’t wait to return! Saying goodbye was so hard.
Truly amazing views! We enjoyed our stay at this property. The house was very clean and welcoming! Would highly recommend to anyone
Enjoyed a week of small-town living in picture-perfect vacation home
My family (my husband, myself, and our three kids—ages 7, 5, and 2) recently vacationed at this home in Maine. Unfortunately, the weather was not the greatest for the majority of our stay; but that made us all the more grateful that we had rented such a nice house, since we spent a significant amount of time relaxing there!
The house was updated, clean, and comfortable. We had plenty of room to spread out and make ourselves at home for the week. Our daughters absolutely LOVED sharing the storybook 3rd floor attic bedroom, and we appreciated that the owners had a pack-n-play on hand for our son.
We ate breakfast and lunch at the house most days, and cooked dinner one night—the kitchen had everything we needed. We ate at the Five Islands Lobster Company two nights (our first and last!) and it was fabulous... and so convenient being right across the street! The drive to nearby towns (Bath, Brunswick) for groceries and more restaurants was easy and pretty, and the restaurants recommended by the owners were delicious. Because of the weather, we also took a trip down to Freeport one afternoon, and a day trip to Portland another.
There is a small beach 1/4 mile away that we walked to that our kids loved for seashell hunting and rock skipping on the water. The owners also provided a pass to the nearby Reid State Park for bigger beaches—including a lovely little "Toddler's Lagoon" that was absolutely perfect for our kids to play in safely for a few hours one morning. We also loved the "real" beach on the other side, where the kids chased the big waves.
Back at the house, we kept ourselves entertained with the provided selection of kid and family board games, Netflix, and the wonderful wrap-around, screened-in porch. I also went running nearly every day, and managed to map out a couple of good 2-3 mile routes. The run down Ledgemere Road and back was peaceful and beautiful—even on the days it was foggy.
Michael was responsive via text to a few quick questions we ran into during our stay, the neighbors were friendly, and aside from the activity of people coming and going from Five Islands Lobster Company, all was quiet. Quaint. Our girls cried when we left at the end of the week, and repeatedly said, "I miss Maine" for at least a week after being home. The fact that we all enjoyed ourselves this much despite the less-than-ideal weather speaks very highly of this home and Georgetown in general!
We loved it and can't wait to come back someday.
We had a great time in Maine. And couldn’t have asked for a better location! The views of the water captured the essence of Maine. This cottage exceeded our expectations.A wonderful family friendly home & location! The house cannot accommodate a large family, but it is roomy and is decorated beautifully with modern updates. Michael was also a great host, very accommodating!
One of Maine's prettiest working fishing villages that has ice cream and a lobster pound. You can even call the local lobsterman to hand-deliver lobster caught that day to your home at boat prices! Bath, Brunswick, Boothbay Harbor, Wiscasset, Freeport, and Portland are all less than an hour away.
