The Paris authorities have recently set a limit on the number of nights per year that we, as owners, are allowed to rent our apartments on a short term basis to tourists. This limit is currently set at 120 nights per year. I have reached this limit for 2018, which explains why my calendar shows « no vacancies » for the rest of the year. I’m currently accepting reservations for 2019. Many thanks for your interest in my apartment.

Located at the very top of the Butte Montmartre and tucked away in a little alley just behind the Place du Tertre is our eighteenth century country house overlooking an enclosed inner courtyard and garden.

On the first floor is a newly renovated apartment measuring 70 square meters comprised of two spacious bedrooms, a large living area with a fully equipped kitchen (including a combination washer - dryer), bathroom and separate toilette. The apartment has a separate entrance and is completely independent from the rest of the house.

Sheltered behind the buildings facing out onto the Place du Tertre our house is calm and peaceful while still being just a few steps from the animation of the artists and terrace cafés of one of the most visited sites of the capital. The best of both worlds.

This iconic neighborhood (« le haut de la Butte ») still retains the charm and atmosphere of a small country village and it should come as no surprise that many French movie stars and television personalities have chosen to make their homes up here alongside the artists and other longtime local residents, in stark contrast to the six-story Haussmannien style buildings, large boulevards, traffic, noise and pollution at the bottom of the hill that true Montmartrois generally refer to in a condescending manner as « en bas » (down there).

A five minute walk down the hill is the Place des Abbesses which in the past few years has undergone a remarkable transformation and is challenging Le Marais for being « le quartier le plus branché de Paris ». The variety of upscale yet affordable shops, restaurants, and terrace cafés are not to be missed.

The closest Metro station is Abbesses which is just eight stops from Concorde on a direct line (nine minutes train time), and couldn’t be more convenient. Concorde puts you within a short walking distance of the Champs Elysees, Tuileries Garden, American Embassy, Place Madeleine, and the upscale shops on the rue Saint Honoré.

Fabulous - great location; great apartment

Our visit to Montmartre was seamless from booking online to the day we left. Tom provided great information both for our arrival and for during our visit. He and Annabel are very friendly, fluent in english & french and were there to welcome us, but they also have alternative arrangements in place in case of a very late arrival and somewhere to leave your luggage before or after checking in/out.

The apartment itself is fabulous - looks just like the photos. It is nicely furnished, very clean, the beds are super comfy and the towels and linens high quality. The kitchen had everything you need as well as thoughtful touches such as tea, coffee and detergents for washing up, the dishwasher and washing machine - so helpful not to have to buy those things when on holiday as you often have to do when renting private properties - even a welcome bottle of wine! Good wifi and the tv even had Netflix which entertained my teenage kids while my sister and I had a long dinner out!

It is located 2 mins walk from Sacre Coeur next to the artists square, but is in a tiny little street and remarkably private and quiet. On arriving, a taxi from the station to the apartment cost us 11 euros, though you can walk to Gare du Nord in 15mins; Abbessess metro in 6mins and the funicular is 3mins away if you don't want to tackle the hills of Montmarte. But the area is so pretty, walking is the nicest way to explore it. Restaurants, bars and shops for every taste are in abundance. Tom's information pack can guide you well.

Montmartre Gem

My wife, daughter and I spent 8 nights here in April, 2018. Communication with Tom was great. He answered all of my questions promptly. He accommodated our flight schedule and allowed us early access to the apartment. He met us upon check-in and explained the workings of the apartment and provided us with area maps and information.

The apartment is roomy with two queen size beds. We used the washer-dryer unit daily. We did not cook meals but fresh fruit and boulangeries are nearby. TV and Netflicks are available but we did not use them. He provided a phone to make local telephone calls. Although near the tourist area of Montmartre, the unit is fairly quiet. The master bedroom has no door and the bed is visible from the hallway. The second bedroom is up a few stairs near the bathroom. The toilet is in the hallway between the master bedroom and the living room.

Public transportation (Montmartre bus) is only a about a block away from the apartment and takes you to the Metro stops. Metro Abesses is only a 5 minute walk down the hill. The funicular is nearby in front of Sacre Coeur.

We were comfortable here and would definitely consider renting this apartment if we are ever in Paris again.

Great place to stay!

We stayed in this comfortable and cosy apartment for 5 nights. How surprinsingly quiet it was....here you are in the heart of Montmartre yet your sleep remains undisturbed by outside noise. A very nice place to return to after a day of exploring the enchantments of Paris. My teenage daughter and I enjoyed the two large and comfortable bedrooms. Small but very functional kitchen and a great couch in the livingroom area perfect for studying the tour guide and plan your next day. Metro and bus nearby (and the funiculaire for those of us who may want to skip the Montmartre steps at the end of a long day of touring the city.) We would return again anytime!

The perfect, quiet apartment in the most beautiful part of Paris!

Check in was easy and quick. We ended up taking a taxi from the airport, but with a family of four, it didn’t cost much more than the bus, then the train, then another taxi. Montemarte is the Old Paris. Loads of little shops and restaurants. Very touristy, but that’s hard to avoid in Paris. Watch out for pickpockets and scammers all around Paris!

Perfect French apartment

We loved our stay! The apartment itself is comfortable and clean, but it's best attribute is its location. You are right in the hustle of Montmartre and its phenomenal patisseries and cafes. Fresh, warm croissants every day! Additionally, we had very easy access to metro lines that brought us quickly to the heart of Paris. Finally, Tom was very responsive and accommodating, even providing directions for a lovely walking tour of the neighborhood. We'd recommend to anyone interested in a neighborhood experience in Paris. One note, bring your walking legs with you. The apartment is at the top of the hill that makes up Montmartre and the stairs are often faster than waiting for the tram.

Overall, this property is excellent value for the money. The location is great for tourists.

While pictures tend to make property listing look better than the reality, that was not the case with this listing. The apartment is very spacious for the purpose it serves. The rooms were clean, the beds very supportive for a good night's rest and the amenities were in good working order. The owner should consider adding some additional hooks in the bathroom for hanging clothes while showering and/or changing. Some additional kitchen utensils would be helpful, such as lids for the pots and pans, steak knives and more wine glasses. The staff was very helpful and attentive toward making our stay very comfortable. The location of this property was also quite unique, virtually within walking distance to two major tourist sites, the Sacred Heart Cathedral and the Moulin Rouge. The property is also within easy access to public transportation opportunities. Security to the property is also good. There is a garden adjacent to the property, but it is not he responsibility of this owner to maintain and there is no access available to the garden. The garden also needs some attention. Overall, this apartment was a great value. I would consider renting again.
