Make a vacation rental in Truro, USA your home away from home

Set towards the tip of Massachusetts’s Cape Cod, Truro is a lovely resort town close to beautiful coastal scenery and a host of interesting sights. On holiday at a vacation rental in Truro you’ll be able to enjoy days at the beach, both facing Cape Cod Bay and the Atlantic, while there are some beautiful towns a few minutes away.

Things to do in Truro, USA

The highlight around Truro self-catering accommodation is certainly the coast beaches reachable from the town include Fisher Road, Cold Storage, Great Hollow, Corn Hill and Beach Point Landing, all no more than a few minutes away on the Bay Side. On the Atlantic Ocean side are Head of the Meadow, Coast Guard Long Nook Road and Ballston Beach. In the summer months you’ll need a parking permit to visit these beaches, and all these sandy stretches are noted for being unspoiled.

Close to Truro vacation accommodation is the oldest lighthouse on the peninsula. It dates to the late-18th Century and was rebuilt 50 years later, and sits atop cliffs 40 metres in height. Today there’s a museum you can visit that documents the eventful history of the area and displays a number of interesting artefacts, including objects recovered from the many shipwrecks in the surrounding waters.

At Truto vacation rentals you’ll be just a few minutes north of the town of Wellfleet. There’s a laid-back rural feel here, and this is also where the Cape Cod Rail Trail begins. It’s a great route to take if you’d like to experience the peninsula’s stunning countryside by bike, following the paved route of a former railway.

North of Truro accommodation, at the very tip of Cape Cod is Provincetown, a pretty resort town home to yet more immaculate beaches, boasting a host of activities and also plenty of culture. It is one of the oldest artist colonies in the country and there are at least ten independent galleries representing local talent. It’s also a popular setting off point for whale-watching tours.

Sitting on the Atlantic, Truro self-catering vacation rentals are in relatively mild region, with slightly higher winter temperatures than inland Massachusetts. Summer weather is gloriously warm, bringing highs that reach the upper 20s or low 30s in mid-summer, all tempered by a refreshing breeze.

Fantastic Rental In Prime Location

5 of 5
We rented the beach condo for 3 nights in May. The booking process was smooth and reservation confirmed quickly. Arrival instructions were sent well in advance and gave clear details of location, access, and contact details. The condo was found just as described and photographed in the advert. We were also greeted with a personal note and contact details for if we had any issues. The security deposit was returned promptly afterwards. It is ideally located along the sand bar at Beach Point and seems to sit slightly further onto the beach than the other properties located along the beach to the West, meaning that the deck gets unobstructed views of the fantastic sunsets. Note that condo and neighbouring properties have changed somewhat since the (2013) Google Street View imagery of the area; the restaurant that was adjacent has been replaced with a new private residence, and the condo appears to have been renovated with a tidier entrance and new parking area since these images. Two parking spaces are reserved for the property. The Outer Cape was very enjoyable in the shoulder season; the local areas and attractions were quiet, and traffic & parking were never an issue. The condo itself was cosy but certainly not cramped; we were very comfortable living there, including accommodating a large amount of baggage from our road-trip, for a few days. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with all the essentials (utensils, small appliances, cupboard items, towels, linens, etc) as well as some perks and nice touches like a new Weber gas grill, Xfinity TV, beach bag with beach towels, and some vintage filament bulb lighting in the living area. We enjoyed some beautiful daytime weather during most of our stay, but the condo remained comfortable just by opening the windows and ventilating with the sea breeze (without using the in-window AC unit). Conversely we had some very windy and stormy evenings, however the high quality windows and storm doors did an excellent job at keeping the weather out and it stayed remarkably warm and quiet inside despite the cold outside temps and high winds! It was very satisfying to have the door seal shut and instantly feel safe and comfortable, despite it being an exposed beach condo. The internal insulation was also good; we did not hear any noise from the neighbouring condo We had a great time on the Cape, would overall strongly recommend this property and would like to thank Jean for our stay!

Wonderful - Just as the Ad says!

We love this little unit and hope to return year after year. A quick bike ride into town - but we still felt like we were on our own private bayside beach overlooking Provincetown. Yeah, you kind of share that little deck in the back with another unit, but its a great way to meet people, which we did. I found that for this price range, most places don't even seem to have this. And the fact that its right on the beach makes everyone so relaxed! David and Jim are nice guys too, which I think matters.
