Make a holiday rental, home, or cottage in Sebago, USA your home away from home

This quiet Cumberland county in the state of Maine comes alive as a tourist resort every summer with thousands arriving to partake of its magnificent scenery and feeling of quiet seclusion. It owes a lot of its charm to the presence of Maine’s second largest lake; Sebago. Those on holiday here can look forward to nights in cosy log cabins with contemporary styling, beautiful cottages surrounded by woods or holiday houses that overlook the sandy shores of Sebago Lake.

Things to do on holiday to Sebago, USA

A favourite American holiday pastime is camping in the woods that encircle Lake Sebago.

There are a number of sailing schools in the vicinity and visitors can hone their skills on the calm waters of the lake. Those who prefer a different kind of activity, and more specifically the one involving golf clubs and 18 holes should make their way to the Point Sebago Golf Course. This is a competition-standard facility featuring courses of different lengths to accommodate golfers of differing abilities. Also available here is an extensive practice centre aimed at helping visitors at different levels improve their game. For those who want to take their golf less seriously there is the Steamboat Landing miniature golf course. It is still a rather challenging course though it is evidently more focused on fun. Speaking of fun, those holidaying with their youngsters will want to make a stop by the Seacoast Fun Parks. Here they will be able to drive go-karts and ride in bumper boats as well as have a round of mini golf.

The therapeutic effect of lounging next to a quiet water mass is what drives most people to beaches. While in Sebago County holidaymakers can experience this soothing sensation on the shores of Lake Sebago or the Peabody Pond. On the lake itself, another relaxing experience awaits visitors in the form of a smooth cruise on board a steamer built in the same way as the ancient steam boats that were once a major form of transportation here.

Fishing in the lake’s waters for different trout species, salmon and bass is also an interesting way of blowing off steam.

WE had the most perfect, peaceful week

5 of 5
We had our wedding at Rockcraft on Aug. 6th. I can't tell you how hospitable Karen and her staff were. We walked in to the home with a beautiful bottle of wine waiting for us. The house is so spacious and our whole wedding party was able to stay comfortably (23+) adults with plenty of privacy and common space. We had a beautiful spot for our reception on the stone porch and a beautiful grassy area overlooking the lake for our ceremony and a tent for our reception. It was an unforgettable evening and a perfect week to follow. We had access to what I think is the most beautiful part of the lake. We had a beautiful dock where we could hang out and swim all day. It is the perfect spot to connect to nature and with your friends/family with the ability to have privacy when you want it. It was the perfect wedding week filled with everything I could have possibly wanted. Boat rentals are close by, the water was crystal clear and warm, the fire pit is gorgeous, lawn games galore, quiet reading spots, golf course next door, late night fires under beautiful starry skies, outdoor grill and outdoor eating spots, just beauty everywhere inside and out. I wish I could relive that magical week over and over. You can't go wrong with this place.
