We booked this home back in April of 2018 for a November stay. Originally, we were a group of 4 adults, needing 3 bedrooms. This property was one of the few that came up at the time and it looked to be what we needed so we booked it.
About a week before our trip, we invited family friends (2 adults & 1 child) to join us since we "Had the room" - this home lists that it actually sleeps 14. The week of the rental, the owner contacted us saying they needed to know who was staying, to prep the home and for insurance purposes, and we provided the updated info. We then were asked to pay an additional $50 per person/per day for the extra number of guests above 4. Since I did not originally search for more than 4, this was new info to me.
This extra charge is not listed in the general info so if you don't search for more than 4 guests - you won't know, but will be obligated to pay.
I agreed to pay, since it was only a few days before our trip, staying somewhere else was not an option at such a late date (BC football game), and there was a no refund policy.
In the end, the friends we invited were only able to stay one night - arriving around 230 on Saturday and everyone left by 1130 on Sunday. I let the owner know but he did not offer a refund of any kind, thought he might due to no info in the general listing - but no.
I also received an email stating we could do early check in at any time on Friday but the owner forgot and the home was not ready until about 230 or so. Not a huge deal, but we got there around noon because of his info. So double check that, oversights happen. Cable service does not include ESPN - so College Game Day (which was at BC that weekend) was not an option. Although the owner does respond quickly to any and all messages and is very helpful.
The home was as described, great location to BC - neat & clean, although a bit run down outside. It could benefit from curtains on the first floor - very little privacy at night when the lights are on. Bedding consisted of sheets, throw blankets and minimal pillows.
**This home is also listed twice, once by the owner and once via Travelmob so note which listing you're renting through. Owner has refund policy, Travelmob does not.
Overall a great weekend - with a few quick fixes to the home and the site listings, this home would be a 5 star.
