Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Large bathroom with both bath and separate power shower. Well equipped kitchen/dining room. Large bedroom overlooking open fields, huge bed, quality linens. Large comfortable living room with dual aspect and inglenook fireplace with log burner. We didn’t light it as central heating was adequate. The cottage is located at the end of a long stone single track lane and we saw deer and pheasants in the fields. The lane to the nearest village is also single track with passing places which we found we used surprisingly often so careful driving necessary. Malton is quite close and is an interesting market town. We could recommend lunch at The Lodge just as you enter the town at the top of the hill. The local pub The Grapes is also worth a visit but check opening times. Castle Howard is about 15/20 mins drive - fabulous. Finally, Kate, who owns the cottage is a lovely host, non intrusive but ready to help/advise if necessary.
Spent 4 nights in this great cottage, met by the owner at the designated time arranged. Our boys loved the bunk beds, and we found the cottage cosy and warm. Perfectly situated to many great locations,Scarborough 9 miles, Filey about the same. There is a fantastic Fish and Chip shop only 50 meters up the road, that catered for gluten free Fish and chips which was a massive bonus for us. The only negative, which isn't much, nor anything to do with the cottage itself, was that the road can be busy at peak times, and it could be difficult to reverse into the parking area in front of the property, as other road users would travel past at high speeds (supposed to be 30 mph) and would be impatient, but hey ho, would not put us off coming again
