Lovely spacious cottage in delightful village with beautiful walks on doorstep.

4 of 5
Spring Cottage was ideal for our two week stay at Easter. It was surprisingly spacious for seven adults for the first week and just as spacious for six adults and two children for the second week. The cottage was very clean and very comfortable and the welcome tea tray and cake was much appreciated. The two bathrooms and three toilets helped with the morning rush hour! Mortehoe is an attractive village which is well served with two pubs, a chip shop, a takeaway, general store and post office etc. We used "The Ship Aground" for drinks and meals where the food and staff were both very good. The Sunday carvery and the breakfast were both excellent. There are some really nice walks just on the doorstep with stunning views. There are lots of trips in the area to make which are well worth doing. The Woody Bay Steam train scored 0/10 but Watermouth Castle scored 10/10 by adults and children! Parking was a bit of a problem for us as the permits which we applied for failed to materialize but parking fines did! A trip to Barnstaple to visit the market and museum as well as the North Devon Council offices nearly resolved the matter. A chat with the parking attendant in Mortehoe on one of his many visits finally sorted it. We would definitely book Spring cottage again but would like to see hand towels in the toilets, an oven glove, more cleaning products and possibly a tumble drier although the washing dried extremely well on the airier in the kitchen.

Homely, convenient for the beach and amenities, smashing view!

5 of 5
We enjoyed a mini break here in April 2018, celebrating my (adult) daughter's birthday. The view from the front windows is everything you could wish for, and the village and beach are but a short walk away (although the hill is short and steep). The apartment is homely, and everything you could reasonably wish for is provided. The acid test is always 'would we stay here again' and the answer is a resounding 'Yes' !
