Make a self catering villa or holiday rental in the West Lakes and Cumbrian Coast your home away from home

The delightful West Lakes area lies between the Cumbrian mountains and the Irish Sea. Known for its peace and tranquility it is the perfect place to enjoy a restful and relaxing holiday rental. The coastal towns of Whitehaven, Workington, Egremont and Barrow-in-Furness all have their own charm with plenty of small shops, banks, cafés and restaurants. The valleys and lakes of Ennerdale, Eskdale, Wasdale and Dunmerdale offer waterside walks and stunning scenery. Wasdale is the home of England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, and its deepest lake at Wastwater.

Whitehaven Rum Story

This local attraction focuses on the original rum shop, courtyard and cellars which were the centre of the UK rum trade. The Kinetic clock graphically demonstrates how rum is made, from processing the sugar cane to bottling.

Comfortable and well equipped

4 of 5
A lovely quirky old cottage, with a few low beams, uneven floors and wobbly walls. Nicely set out, with comfy furniture and well equipped kitchen. Lovely enclosed garden for children and dogs. Open fire or wood burner would have made it perfect.

Cosy and well-equipped for big groups

5 of 5
We were a group of 8 people and there was plenty of room for all of us. We were impressed by the facilities and the lovely, big but cosy lounge with a fire. It is the perfect place for large groups and has everything you need. The heating system works really well and the place seemed very warm for a large old property.Apart from that, of course the location is perfect for exploring the lake district and the local pub is very friendly.

Absolutely Fantastic! 6 star, Gold star!

I can generally say that I could not find anything wrong, maybe the "Star Gazeing" double bed was a little to cumfy :-) Oh and the shower, took my skin off!! Blimey, best shower I have had in a few years. I was cycling and fell running over the weekend and could not of wished for a better spot, the family owners are also very friendly. If anybody finds faults, don't think they deserve the Lake District ;-) Better not mention the "Secretly Famous" pub, the best in the Lakes..... Dave
