HomeAway has an excellent selection of holiday homes in Watchet to choose from for everyone. Things to do in Watchet

Watchet has a number of interesting historical and cultural sites to visit, plenty to keep the kids entertained, and is in close proximity to beautiful Exmoor National Park.

-The Bakelite Museum is a national heritage listed site and is a showcase of the personal collection of Patrick Cook. It’s a fascinating trip through time and visitors of all ages will enjoy the exhibits of everything made from Bakelite which include vintage cameras, radios, telephones and even a coffin.

-The Quantock Hills: are a region of breathtaking natural beauty and one of the main reasons for choosing holiday cottages in Watchet. Nature lovers will be in awe of the rolling area that was occupied as far back as the Iron Age. There are plenty of walks and nature adventures to be had, and it is home to lots of wildlife and beautiful flora and fauna. Great care is being taken to conserve the area and keep it as majestic for generations after us to enjoy.

-The Market House Museum is a popular tourist attraction. Even though it is extremely small, it is literally jam-packed with exhibits, photos, stories and artefacts showcasing Watchet’s colourful history. There are fossils and artefacts from the stone and iron age and the place is well worth a visit.

-Doniford Farm is a must if you chosen holiday accommodation in Watchet. Meet Mr Snood the friendly turkey, who would like a cuddle before anyone else, chill out with the farm animals and enjoy a great lunch in the café afterwards. It’s a super fun family outing and even your hardest customers – the sullen teenager – will have a smile on their face when they leave.

-The West Somerset Railway is a hugely popular tourist attraction. What better way to explore the countryside or even take a trip up to the Dunster Castle, than on a vintage steam train ride? There’s lots of fun events and festivities on every weekend at the railway.

Outstanding property in peaceful location

5 of 5
We have just returned from a wonderful week's holiday at 2 Warmore Cottages. I can honestly say there is nothing the owners haven't thought of when it comes to ensuring a comfortable, luxurious and well equipped holiday property - even down to the very much appreciated welcome for our little dog Darcy. This is a very dog friendly property!! The cottage was immaculate upon arrival and the bedding, towels and robes were of a very high quality which only added to the enjoyment of our holiday. We also had a very friendly welcome at The Bridge in Dulverton and would highly recommend it to anyone else planning a trip to the area. Elaine has been so helpful in organising our stay and nothing has been too much trouble. We were also able to order an on-line grocery delivery to the property shortly after our arrival which was extremely helpful. All in all, a fantastic property and we hope to return again at some point in the future.

Well Equipped, Clean and Comfortable bar one exception

4 of 5
This cottage is good value,is well equipped and sits in a quiet location. Overall the furnishings are fine with the beds being extremely comfortable but the 3 piece suite is another matter. Its not that it is really uncomfortable but that you sink so low in it that extracting yourself from it is extremely difficult. Yes we are getting on a bit but are still pretty agile. I suspect that anyone less so would find it impossible. Visitors should be aware that the village lanes are very narrow and i mean narrow, all part of the experience. Taking everything into account it is good value for money.
