Make a country cottage in Watchet your home away from home

HomeAway has an excellent selection of holiday homes in Watchet to choose from for everyone. From quaint holiday cottages for two people, with good walks in the surrounds and romantic strolls to the beach, interesting barn conversions, and apartments in town to sweeping homes for families who want some down time with their loved ones – holiday accommodation in Watchet has it all and more.

Things to do in Watchet

Watchet has a number of interesting historical and cultural sites to visit, plenty to keep the kids entertained, and is in close proximity to beautiful Exmoor National Park.

-The Bakelite Museum is a national heritage listed site and is a showcase of the personal collection of Patrick Cook. It’s a fascinating trip through time and visitors of all ages will enjoy the exhibits of everything made from Bakelite which include vintage cameras, radios, telephones and even a coffin.

-The Quantock Hills: are a region of breathtaking natural beauty and one of the main reasons for choosing holiday cottages in Watchet. Nature lovers will be in awe of the rolling area that was occupied as far back as the Iron Age. There are plenty of walks and nature adventures to be had, and it is home to lots of wildlife and beautiful flora and fauna. Great care is being taken to conserve the area and keep it as majestic for generations after us to enjoy.

-The Market House Museum is a popular tourist attraction. Even though it is extremely small, it is literally jam-packed with exhibits, photos, stories and artefacts showcasing Watchet’s colourful history. There are fossils and artefacts from the stone and iron age and the place is well worth a visit.

-Doniford Farm is a must if you chosen holiday accommodation in Watchet. Meet Mr Snood the friendly turkey, who would like a cuddle before anyone else, chill out with the farm animals and enjoy a great lunch in the café afterwards. It’s a super fun family outing and even your hardest customers – the sullen teenager – will have a smile on their face when they leave.

-The West Somerset Railway is a hugely popular tourist attraction. What better way to explore the countryside or even take a trip up to the Dunster Castle, than on a vintage steam train ride? There’s lots of fun events and festivities on every weekend at the railway.

Gorgeous cottage, gorgeous location.

5 of 5
We have stayed in this cottage before and it was so lovely we decided to go back this year. The cottage has everything you need and is pristine and very comfortable, warm and cosy. Verity has skimped on nothing, and she's a really lovely lady too. We had a lovely time yet again and hope to go back again.Such a lovely place to stay (especially when the sun shines!). Can't praise her and her cottage highly enough. Thank you Verity.

Great cottage and location

5 of 5
We had a great long weekend staying in Dunster, the cottage was amazing and we'll presented with all you could need. The welcome pack was a great touch. This is a prime example of how to run rental accommodation we had all we needed and great communication from the owners. Will definitely stay again

Lovely, comfortable and homely cottage in a peaceful setting.

We really enjoyed our stay in this cosy yet spacious cottage. It was clean and fully equipped with everything we needed, making it a comfortable and enjoyable stay. It is well positioned in a quiet village in Exmoor, nearby to Dunster and other scenic spots. Highly recommended for a refreshing retreat.
