Make a holiday cottage in Stratton your home away from home

Stratton is a picturesque village just to the northeast of Bude that comes with its own rich history. HomeAway holiday cottages in Stratton offer the perfect accommodation in which to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle. The properties generally sleep between two and five people and many are pet friendly, so visitors can always test the water on a romantic interlude, before bringing the whole family on the next trip.

With these charming and modern cottages more reasonably priced than places like self-styled foodie paradise Padstow, a stay in Stratton is the smart way to holiday. Take advantage of the lower rates, and save more to spend on the wide variety of activities nearby. Most Stratton holiday cottages come with TVs and DVD players, Freeview and Wi-Fi, and are fully kitted out with modern appliances. Of course, some go further and take advantage of the great climate by offering pretty gardens and even swimming pools. They are perfect for visitors looking for a comfortable, personal experience without the hassle of a hotel. Whether seeking to savour the slower pace of life in a small village, or eager to get into something exciting nearby, Stratton offers activities for every taste.

There are over 1,000 gnomes and pixies along with over 250 labelled species of flora spread throughout this four-acre reserve. After a couple hours of frolicking, enjoy seeing the little people being made, and have some sandwiches and tea from the Gnome kitchen.

-Indoor activities: Harlequinn’s Leisure is billed as “Cornwall's all year, all weather, premier tourist attraction”. Ever popular with visitors in Stratton holiday cottages, this indoor fun zone is sure to be a hit with the children aged 12 and under. It boasts a six-level play zone and numerous slides and activities, ten-pin bowling and food.

-Outdoor activities: Tamar Lakes Country Park offers a wide variety of water activities like kayaking, windsurfing and fishing, as well as walks around the lake and a children’s play area.

Baywatch

5 of 5
We have been visiting Widemouth Bay over several years and love it. But this is by far the most beautiful house we have ever stayed in. We wanted for nothing... every little detail had been addressed from the kitchen to the lovely sun trap garden. It was so nice to find essentials in the kitchen so if you forgot to bring anything or just didn’t want to go shopping straight away you didn’t have to. I don’t think I’ll be able to stay anywhere else now, and look forward to returning next year. Trelawny Tea Room run by Vicky and Steve is a lovely place to eat with homemade cakes and light bites, also there is a restaurant further up the hill called Elements which serves beautiful food. Thank you to Lucy and Ross for providing us with a beautiful place to spend our holidays in the future.
