Sheviock is in the "forgotten corner" of Cornwall. The Rame peninsular is easily missed having crossed the Tamar in to Cornwall on the A38. The closest shop is in Crafthole some 3/4 mile away. Torpoint is the main shopping centre. Being a peninsular there are many waterfronts and interesting places; our favourite was Kingsand and Cawsand. The Rivers Tamar and Lynher, with many inlets, make it a long way round by road to Plymouth but the day is saved by the ferry from Torpoint. Looe is only 10mile/20min. away Tawny Cottage is a modern conversion of an old farm building and is ideal for a couple(although sleeps 4); one bathroom/toilet is only a problem if every one wants to use at the same time. The open kitchen/living area was not a problem(for two of us) and all facilities were available including a freezer which I do not recall being mentioned in the general description. We were lucky with the weather and the outside table and chairs were used in the evening. There was ample car parking space. We received a warm welcome from Mike and Tine and they were on hand should the occasion arise. We did not get to meet Frank and Doreen. Care needs to be taken when exiting the grounds as the gateway is on the inside of a bend and and visibility could be a problem. We had a great time and would thoroughly recommend.

We stayed at Tikkidew Cottage for a week in July. We were lucky enough to have wall to wall sunshine which helped make our stay in this lovely cottage one of the best chilled out holidays we've had. The peace & tranquility of the location along with the well equipped accommodation was second to none. Andrew & Sally were perfect hosts, on hand if we needed anything but happy to leave us to it which we appreciated. The local pub, the Weary Friar (a 15 minute walk away) served great food & the Who'd Have Thought It pub (a 10 minuted drive away) was fantastic & we'd thoroughly recommend it. Looe, Polperro, Whitsand Bay, Carlyon Bay, Charlestown are all less than an hour away by car & well worth a visit. We very much hope to go back to Tikkidew in the near future for another memorable holiday. Thanks again to Andrew & Sally.
