  • Lovely well equipped cottage, enough room for 4 adults and 2 little dogs.

Stayed for 4 nights in May cottage. Can’t really fault anything and good value for money. Tideswell had plenty to offer with 3 pubs all doing food, and our dogs allowed in all of them. Everyone was friendly and chatty. Would stay again.

  • A delightful cottage in a beautiful village

We chose Tom's cottage for our 3 day, Mum & daughter break in the Peak District because the description and photographs promised luxury - and they were not wrong! My daughter and I were very impressed indeed with the quality of the furnishings, decor and equipment . The two en-suite bedrooms are beautifully decorated in keeping with the period of the house. The bathrooms are fabulous too, excellent showers and baths! We arrived rather late on the Friday evening - rather cold and tired - the first thing we saw as we entered the cottage was a vase full of fresh flowers and a lovely 'welcome' note from Jo, the housekeeper. The bottle of wine and biscuits were also a lovely touch. As for the village of Baslow - so pretty. A few steps from the cottage is 'Charlie's' - restaurant/cafe/tearoom. We had excellent food there and were only sorry we didn't have enough time to make a second visit. Walking back to the cottage , we passed the Church Farm Art Gallery, were so taken by a picture in the window that we went in for a closer look - and then spent the next 40 minutes or so talking to the artist, who is also the owner, the delightfully charming , Norman Tomlinson. Then a lovely walk to and through the beautiful Chatsworth Estate. All in all, one of the best short break holidays we've ever had. Can't wait to go back!!
