Off the beaten track, yet only minutes away from the local pub when you rent a holiday cottage or holiday rental home in Sampford Courtenay

It is famous for being where the Prayerbook rebellion first started, as parishioners joined Cornwall and made their stand against England in a resolution to restore the abolished Latin service.

Sampford Courtenay is one of the prettiest villages in Devon. It has changed little since the Middle Ages and is a charming, sleepy place of thatch, cob and mellow stone cottages ablaze with flowers in the summer. Sampford Courtenay is a popular tourist spot and makes a great base to visit the arts, crafts and heritages sites, partake in family attractions, excursions and outdoor activities, as well as local events and cultural leisure activities in this area and throughout Devon.

One of the best ways to do this is to rent a self-catering property. This type of accommodation is comfortable, reasonably priced and feels like a home away from home. Holiday cottages in Sampford Courtenay have all mod cons and allow you the freedom to explore in your own time. They are perfect to relax and unwind after a busy days sightseeing.

Many holiday lodges, barn conversions, eco lodges and cottages in Sampford Courtenay are off the beaten track and secluded, yet only a few minutes walk from the friendly local pub. They are perfect for birdwatchers, walkers, cyclists to explore little travelled lanes and for a family get together.

Garden enthusiasts will love the Royal Horticultural Society's garden at Rosemoor near Great Torrington (only eleven miles from your cottage) or Winsford walled gardens, a twenty-five minute drive away. One of the best cottages we stayed in

We loved everything! The home made cake from Nicky was delicious and we were made very welcome. The cottage was very warm during the nights which is always appreciated. The whole setting was pieceful and calm. A true romantic getaway. We sure will be back to explore Moonseeker next time.
