  • Small and quirky but everything we needed
    5 of 5

Had a great time at Buttercup Cottage. Tony (the owner) was always on hand to answer and deal with any queries. Accommodation is small but has everything you need (except maybe a knife for cutting veg and a spatula). We stayed for 11 nights and had our bedding and towels changed. The bedrooms are plenty big enough and the shower in the bathroom was great. The washing machine and tumble dryer in the barn next door made it easy to keep on top of everything and there is a washing line in the court yard available to use. There is a small, but adequate play area for young children. A very quiet location which took a bit of getting used to, as does the smell of cow manure that you only seem to smell when the wind changes. Our friends hired the attached cottage (Daisy) for a couple of nights which was great as we had this lovely big area to ourselves. Would defiantly recommend if you need to sleep more then 4. WiFi was a bit hit in miss in the cottage, much to the shock of my teenage daughters, but you could great signal from the front. We had 4 deck chairs which was lovely as the weather was so great. Would defiantly go back. Last thing, it is down a county lane to try to arrive in the day as we missed it because we arrived late at night, also follow the instructions that get sent and not your sat nav. Ours took us down the smallest and narrowest county lanes I have ever seen. All in all a great holiday.

  • Great little cottage for a family of four

Really enjoyed our family 2 night stay here adjacent to our friends (in the cottage next door). Think they are great properties for two visiting families of four with enough space inside and a bbq area outside. Well located to visit the coast or nearby villages of Colyton and Honiton also.....
