Family holiday to Devon

5 of 5
Had a fantastic week staying at the lodge on the Waterside holiday park. I don't normally write reviews but felt I should as there aren't many on the site (feedback is normally through text to the owner) so wanted to share how wonderful the lodge and views are. Normally I feel that when visiting a place it isn't always as good as the photos but this is actually better. The views are amazing over the sea and the steam train which comes along the track several times a day is an added bonus. The outdoor area of the lodge is great as there are a number of places to sit from comfy seats to loungers and a nice seating area at the top of the property. It did help that we had some fantastic weather and were able to sit outside. The lodge is decorated to a high standard and has everything you need. The beds are very comfy and the kids loved the recliner chairs. The lodge itself is situated at the top of a steep hill, hence the great views, there are 2 ways round from the swimming pool/club house and the other way isn't as steep.. There is an outdoor heated pool on the site which we did use and a club house which we didn't. There is a cost of £6 per person for the week if you want to use the pool and club house and they do ask for your passes when going to the pool. The only improvement I would suggest for me personally would be to have blackout curtains in the bedrooms, this is a personal request as I am used to darkness when I go to sleep but it certainly didn't spoil my holiday, just a suggestion. Out and about - we went to the Water Park near Goodrington Sands which the kids loved (aged 10 and 13), went on the Steam railway, had a day in Cockington, Paignton (great park near the beach) and Torquay. I did contact the owner before we travelled to ask a few questions and he always responded promptly. We also met him on the day we arrived and he showed us around and provided his number if we had any issues. On the day we left, we were half way home and realised we had left some clothes in the wardrobe. I rang the owner and he said he would arrange for the cleaner to parcel them up and send them to us. We received these a few days later and was very grateful he had arranged to do this. This was definitely over and above what we expected. Overall we had a great holiday and would definitely recommend the lodge and stay there if we visit Paignton again.

Happy holiday at Seaview

Seaview is a delightful house containing everything you need for a stay away from home. View was lovely and we made good use of garden to dine out in the sunshine. Good location for beaches and tourist attractions.
