Lovely property, fitted out to an extremely high standard with an eclectic mix of old and modern furniture. It is two cottages knocked together which provides a good balance of a single holiday cottage, but offers that little bit more privacy for couples staying in the two halves of the cottage.
Both double bedrooms are in the charming eaves of the cottage roof but offer great space. V comfy beds, Egyptian cotton sheets. One double room has a separate bedroom with a single and a pull-out bed which means a family of four are together in one area of the cottage, with their own bathroom. The second bedroom has a downstairs wet room, with a underfloor heating.
There is a very laid back dining room, a large living room, and a sun-room downstairs. Both the dining room and the Living room have log burning stoves - we were astonishingly lucky to have May temperatures of 28C and I was gutted I didn't get to use the stoves!!! Great galley kitchen with range cooker and all mod cons. Fresh Asparagus in the garden if you ask the owners nicely!! The owners have put a great selection of local guides, Ordnance Survey Maps and books in their too. Enough space for two cars on the drive with a bit of careful parking!!!
So much on offer within 20 miles of the village. Orford Ness (NOTE: only weekly boat outside high season, RSPB Minsmere, Sutton Hoo, Woodbridge and its Estuary, beautiful woodlands all around Orford (very like a mini new-forest), Aldburgh, Dunwich. Lavenham a bit further afield well worth a visit.
Loved Orford - Couple of great pubs, FANTASTIC Deli and will certainly return. Quite fancy a winter break now for the contrast!!
