Beautiful Property

5 of 5
We stayed at the property for a long weekend with our family. The house is beautiful, everything is catered for and the location is a 10 minute walk to Newcastle city centre over the bridge. I would highly recommend this property for exploring Newcastle and the surrounding area. Being able to park was a bonus, but, once there, the car wasn't used.

Centrally located & tastefully refurbished mid-terrace - full of character.

The photos can't do justice to the property. Although in the kind of Durham street where student houses are routinely located, it's far from a student house inside. Lovingly restored, maintaining many original features and respecting them in the decor, even in early December the house was snug. We'd love to return some summer to enjoy eating in the in the prettily decorated courtyard, whose mural depicts Durham's unmissable cathedral. We were very grateful for Margaret & Trish's patience with our delayed arrival, due to travel hitches and of all the properties we have rented, the welcome pack here was by far the best! Location is great - a cheap taxi ride from the train, though if not pressed for time or daunted by steps, it's a pleasant walk down from the station to here. At the bottom of Neville street is bustling North Road - and, conveniently, Tesco Metro & Sainsbury's Local. Turn left outside the front door and within 100 yards you have a pancake house and picturesque local pub on the way to a quiet back route down to Framwelgate Bridge and across to the Bailey. Great value for money for such good access to the heart of the town with its great coffee houses like Leonard's or Cafedral. If you tire of using 21 Neville Street's excellent cooking facilities, there's also the astonishingly cheap (given the quality) lunchtime set menu at the Cellar Door to try. Many reasons to choose Durham, many reasons to opt for this accommodation. Thanks, Margaret.
