  • Comfortable secluded cottage within the town of Buckfastleigh

Overall, as the title suggests, we had a good comfortable stay in this cottage. If I were to be constructively critical some of the pans in the kitchen could be replaced as could be the pedal bin which was broken. We were welcomed warmly and had a welcoming hamper left for us. It was well laid out and the jacuzzi/bath was a delight after a day out walking in the countryside. All in all good value for money.

We stayed at The Coach House for the weekend. The whole experience from booking to arriving and staying was so easy and stress free. The directions given by the owners, David & Mary Horne were spot on and we arrived at the location without getting lost ( it is well hidden in a valley and cannot be seen from the road ). Did have a little trouble getting the key out of the key safe but got there in the end. The accommodation was excellent and it felt very homely. It was clean, tastefully furnished and the kitchen was well equipped. The welcome bottle of wine was a nice touch. The information book in the lounge gave detailed operational instructions for all the electrical equipment which was very helpful. Also there were a lot of helpful suggestions for places to eat and places to visit in the area. Loved the log burner which made it so comfy in the evenings, especially as the weather was so wet and miserable outside ( but luckily dry during the day ). I cannot fault the set up and the owners have tried to think of everything to ensure a pleasant stay. The only thing that wasn’t there which I always take is a bottle stop used for Sparkling wines - not an essential but good for those who enjoy a glass of Prosecco or Cava. Thank you David and Mary for making our stay so enjoyable.
