Make a holiday rental cottage or accommodation in Marazion, Cornwall your home away from home

The beautiful little town of Marazion lies in the shores of Mounts Bay, known as one of the most beautiful coastal locations in the West Country. The wide sweeping bay beach is of huge appeal, yet there is so much more to a holiday in Marazion accommodation. Famous as the gateway to St Michael’s Mount, which is one of Cornwall’s most celebrated attractions, Marazion is perfect spot for a family holiday, whether you are looking for lazy days on the beach, a water sports holiday or a peaceful escape on Cornwall’s beautiful coast.

Things to do in Marazion, Cornwall

Mount’s Bay is a massive attraction for anyone staying in Marazion accommodation. The sea here is safe to swim in and there is always plenty of space on the beach to kick a football, play tennis or simply relax in the sun. The bay is also a fantastic place to sail, windsurf or kite board, as the calm seas and reliable winds create almost perfect conditions for water sport. There is an excellent water sports centre in Marazion, so those looking to brush up on their sailing or learn to windsurf are well positioned from self catering Marazion accommodation.

Marazion is also excellently positioned for tours of Cornwall. Just a short trip along the coast lies Penzance, and Land’s End, the Minack Theatre, the Eden Project and the St Ives Tate Gallery are all easily within range of an afternoon excursion from a cottage in Marazion.

A holiday home in Marazion is a great base for walkers too. The coastal paths are highly celebrated in the area, largely due to the astonishing scenery, but if you would like to explore inland, there is certainly no shortage of enthralling paths to explore either. Marazion Marsh, which lies behind the village, is home to an enormous number of bird species, as well as mink and other mammals. The area is hugely popular with birdwatchers.

Places to visit on holiday in Marazion, Cornwall

If you are staying in Marazion accommodation for any amount of time, you must walk the causeway to Saint Michael’s Mount in Mount’s Bay. The causeway is only revealed at low tide, but if your timing is poor, there are now regular ferries (small boats mainly) from Marazion itself.

Travel to Marazion, Cornwall

Marazion holiday rental is well worth making the effort to reach. Rural and somewhat isolated, by far the best way to reach a self catering Marazion holiday home is by car. Although you can reach the village by public transport, having the absolute freedom to explore the area as you wish is priceless, especially when you consider how much there is to see in the local area.

Just perfect! Couldn't have chosen a better place for our Pearl Anniversary!

5 of 5
Where do I start! Joan and Richard are a delight! Very welcoming; provided excellent recommendations of where to eat and what to do and couldn't have been more friendly or helpful while respecting privacy. White Cottage has everything, literally everything: the awesome view - rare to find a place where you can enjoy watching dolphins from the comfort of the sofa!; spotlessly clean; well stocked kitchen with everything you need for self catering; luxury bathroom with a powerful shower; lovely fluffy towels and the bed is so comfy too. And PARKING!! Not many places in Cornwall provide parking on site. Joan & Richard let you leave your car on their drive which is very handy anyway but a must for unloading and loading on arrival/departure. The welcome gift of Cornish biscuits and wine was lovely and very much enjoyed and appreciated. It's a perfect location to explore all of Cornwall. Places that are a must to visit: Lizard Peninsula; Land's End; Kynance Cove; St.Michael's Mount; St.Ives; Porthcurno Beach/Minack Theatre; Padstow & Port Isaac - take the coast road and view the beautiful beaches from New Quay onwards and of course, Mousehole and Newlyn that are within walking distance. Mousehole is a beautiful village. Places to eat in Mousehole: The Old Coastguard - the oysters are delicious; 2 Fore Street - the soufflé starters are just mouthwatering; The Ship - good pub food; Rock Pool - tasty breakfast and we were lucky to have been able to eat outside watching sea life, a perfect location for an eatery. Places to eat in Newlyn: Tunnicliffe's Tolcarne Inn - seared scallops in a squash jus/puree, lovely!!; Lewis's Fish & Chips - delicious. Richard also recommended Fraser's fish & chips on the way to Penzance just by the amusement arcade. It was lovely bumping into Joan & Richard every now and again as it was just nice to chat and they would always provide you with good advice and different things to do/places to see. And Maisie their beautiful dog is lovely too. This was my first time to Cornwall and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay or enjoy our 30th Wedding Anniversary, we're just sorry we didn't stay longer.

Beautiful cottage and great location.

The cottage was ideal for the two of us and our Labrador. Well furnished and equipped with everything we needed. Jo dealt with the booking quickly and efficiently and all was ready for us including a few essentials like milk, tea and coffee and the wood burner ready to light with a starter supply of logs and kindling. The location is ideal for trips to all areas of S and SW Cornwall with Porthleven just a short trip away. We were lucky to have great weather in October but the cottage would be very comfortable winter or summer. Would recommend it as a great cosy hideaway for a young or old couple and very dog friendly (including the local pub at Breage!).
