I can recommend Hell Barn Cottages without reservation. The cottages are extremely well-equipped – eg. a stairgate and a torch – things you wouldn’t normally find in a rented cottage. They are spotless and Diane and Shige even provide a starter pack of provisions. The gardens are beautiful with furniture for sitting out and play equipment for the children. There is even an indoor games room. It seems to me that they have thought of everything. Our spaniel was made very welcome too. Diane and Shige are the perfect hosts – helpful and accommodating but unobtrusive too. As for the area – a week is not long enough to do all the things available in the area. We went for our second visit at the beginning of June, and we will certainly return again next year.

SIMPLY THE BEST PLACE IN LYME!

Wow! We have stayed in Lyme Regis many times over the years but NOTHING beats this fabulous apartment for location, location, location: breathtaking views, perfect comfort and total relaxation. You almost feel you are in the harbour itself due to its amazing positioning overlooking the whole stretch of Lyme Bay and Golden Cap. It is superbly-equipped for dining in, watching the world go by and midnight walks on the beach. Great local eateries are close by, too. Brimming with art & books, and some wonderful homemade touches (loved the hidden basket of treats) it is a truly delightful home-from-home vacation but with views to die for! I have recommended this little gem to all my friends and cannot wait to book again. My husband said our stay there was the most relaxing in years and I must agree. Not 5 star accommodation but 10!!! Thank you, Marie and family, it was not only sublime but unbeatable in terms of boutique-style seaside self-catering accommodation.

                                    Fantastic.

The Granery was everything and more. The outlook from the terrace was super and very restful with only the sheep and the birds to listen to. Apart from the children playing Badminton. Three generations all loved it and the dog loved all the walks. We would certainly visit again. (And the beef from Lucy was enjoyed on our first Sunday home). Jackie Davis
