  • Beechnut Lodge a gem of a find...

Beechnut lodge was a real gem. Beautifully presented, immaculate decor and with all the amenities, comforts and equipment you could need or want. Barbara and David exceeded all expectations with what they provide and we felt at home from the moment we arrived. They had even put up Christmas decorations to make it it nice and festive for our stay. Barbara even called to check we had arrived and make sure all was well. It was comforting to know Barbara was always just a phone call away should there have been any issues, which there wasn’t as everything was perfect! The location is wonderful and Lustleigh is a truly beautiful village with a very welcoming pub!! A great location for touring Devon and especially convenient for Dartmoor which was our primary attraction to the area. Thank you very much Barbara and David for a memorable and hugely enjoyable stay. It was a shame to have to leave and we will definitely be back!

  • Pre Christmas Break.

Came in the middle of December and the weather was as we expected, WET. However we were so close to so many good walks that we were able to go out in the dry spells, and if we got caught then we had our warm cosy retreat to come back to to dry off. Property has a wonderful view from the lounge and I have many photos of the changing colours. Loved to get up to watch the dawn - easy in December as it's quite late. Apart from walking PHEW we did Buckfast Abbey - wonderful Abbey Wine - The House of Marbles and attended the Sunday Morning village church service where we were given a warm welcome and enjoyed a coffee afterwards with the villagers. Really enjoyed our stay. Could imagine it would be perfect watching the sun set on the patio with a glass of wine in the summer. Maybe we will come back to try it out.
