Quirky and best!
Firstly, only one regret and that is I didn’t book for 2 weeks...
The cottage is amazing. It is full of character. Vertical, over 4 floors, it has everything you need to guarantee a relaxing break. I was there to recharge my batteries and that’s exactly what I did.
For a week I enjoyed going up and downstairs between rooms, and , eventually, got used to the low beam in the kitchen and stopped banging my head - but at just over 6 foot tall low beams are always a hazard wherever I go.
The furnishings are well considered and extremely comfortable and give the cottage a feel of luxury.
I particularly enjoyed sitting out, every day, to have my breakfast on the patio looking out across a well stocked and tended garden onto rolling hills in the not too far off distance.
The village itself is very picturesque and very friendly. I made daily use of the village cafe and restaurant and was impressed with the quality of food in the cafe and the range of food in what is a small village shop.
I think the owners of Knoll Cottage have produced a real treat here and I would have no hesitation in recommending the cottage to others, especially friends and family.
Perhaps the best compliment I can give it is that whilst sitting in the living room watching telly on my last night I took time to look around the room, at the amazing stone walls and fireplace, and out of the windows looking out onto the countryside and thought to myself “I could quite happily live here”.
