The two bedroomed cottage (both ensuite) is surprisingly spacious and our 14 month year old immediately felt at home, running from room to room on the stone floors. These are well designed spaces with the feel of a cottage but with high ceilings and just the right balance of exposed beams. The weather was gorgeous during our stay and I thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside in the evening. The kitchen is pretty well equipped and it would be no problem cooking for a family of five. Being part of a working farm, the air was fresh in a truly countryside way, if you understand what I mean. The owners are very helpful and pleasant and my only regret is that we could not have stayed longer and chilled out in these lovely peaceful surroundings. I had forgotten how lovely Abergavenny and the surrounding area is on a warm spring day. We will be back when my wife's parents next visit the UK and I hope the weather will be just as kind to us again.
My family and I spent a week at Millbrook Barn, age range twenties to 80; we all agreed that it was a superb holiday from start to finish. The accommodation has everything you could ask for and is set in the midst of lovely scenery occupied by a host of entertaining sheep and lambs.
There are numerous walk in area, some easy others more demanding but all very enjoyable. Abergavenny has a lively market and numerous eateries. We had a meal in the Walnut on our last night, expensive but worth it.
There are a good selection of indoor games for children young and old.
Hosts, Peter and Brenda a a lovely couple and if you're lucky, Brenda might give you some Welsh Cakes.
