Things to do

-The Tate Liverpool museum is an impressive gallery that displays works from the national Tate Collection. Visitors can take in works of British art dating from 1500 to the present day as well as international modern art. As at all Tate Museums across England, admission is free.

-Pier Head served as Liverpool's principle dock until about 1900. Tourists can see the impressive facades of the Three Graces: the Port of Liverpool Building, the Liver Building, and the Cunard Building. The Museum of Liverpool is also found here.

-A ferry trip across the Mersey is a fun way to see the city. Much of Liverpool is built up on hills, so this is a comfortable way to enjoy the famous skyline. There is a small admission fee that is well worth it.

-The beautiful Liverpool Cathedral is not to be missed. Simply viewing the structure is impressive enough, but a guided tour provides guests with a wealth of information on the history of this Gothic cathedral. A trip up the bell tower provides fantastic views over the city and into North Wales.

-The Magical Mystery tour is a must for Beatles fans. Schools, family homes, and birthplaces are just a few of the stops along this fun and informative tour. The tour bus is modelled after the one used by the Fab Four in the movie "The Magical Mystery Tour". Live guides and MP3 audio guides are available.

-The stunning Chinese Arch that marks the entrance the oldest Chinatown in Europe. A present from Shanghai, this structure is over 15 metres high and covered in dragons. Chinatown is packed with authentic Chinese restaurants, making it a great place for a cheap meal.

Weather in Liverpool

Summer is usually the best time to visit Liverpool. Being a coastal northern city, Liverpool temperatures are usually rather low. June sees the most sunshine with upwards of 10 hours per day. The average temperature in July is only about 16°C. The sea is warmest in August with an average water temperature of around 15°C. Winters are cold and wet with January being the coldest, measuring in around 5°C on average.

Travel to Liverpool

Liverpool has terrific road and rail networks as well as one international airport and an international port. Liverpool airport is located south of the city and offers flights to and from about 70 destinations. The city itself has an impressive underground railway network with service to the closer suburbs as well. Merseyrail provides service to all of Merseyside, and the national railway, Network Rail, connects Liverpool to major towns and cities across the England.

Newly refurbished property with high quality furnishings. Very spacious n light rooms with beautiful views of the garden overlooking the beach. Subtle light fittings in every room adds to a romantic ambience. The owners very friendly and accomodating. Easy access car or train to liverpool one shopping and albert docks. With en suites to each bedroom perfect for families ir group of friends wanting to share.
