Make a holiday cottage in Little Petherick your home away from home

Little Petherick is a beautiful example of a quintessential Cornish village. Located in North Cornwall between Padstow and Wadebridge, it is nestled in the Little Petherick Creek Valley. The location offers a tranquil setting for holidaymakers to base themselves in, allowing them to enjoy the coast and beaches, as well as the scenic delights of inland Cornwall. Little Petherick is a relaxing destination that nonetheless offers activities for all ages.

HomeAway holiday cottages in Little Petherick offer panoramic views of this lush environment. These comfortable accommodations are suitable for groups of four to six people, perfect for larger families or group getaways. Many are also pet friendly, so there’s no need to find a sitting service or kennel. Compared to other areas like surfer’s favourite Bude or foodie hotspot Padstow, holiday cottages in Little Petherick generally cost less. Affordable as they are, however, properties are rich in amenities like fireplaces, modern appliances and electronics. Many also include children’s toys, and several feature open-plan living spaces and BBQ areas. Offering a means of escaping the hustle and bustle, Little Petherick offers a variety of activities for visitors, either in town or within just a few miles.

Things to do

-Natural heritage: The Lost Gardens of Heligan are a short 12-mile drive away from the village. In this popular botanical garden, children and adults alike will delight at the magical exhibits. Even with its microclimate, there's something enchanting about finding such a sub-tropical paradise in the middle of a Cornwall getaway. Whenever you visit, it will certainly be a day well spent.

-Family attractions: Crealy Great Adventure Park is just three to five miles away from holiday apartments in Little Petherick and a big draw for families. If you don’t want to go, best not let the kids hear of it – they won’t be able to resist the petting zoo, rides and indoor and outdoor adventure areas. Book online to take advantage of discount pricing.

-Historical attractions: The village of Tintagel will have history buffs in heaven. The Tintagel Old Post Office is a National Trust property dating from the 14th century; but it's the ruins of King Arthur’s castle and the village’s many links with the Knights of the Round Table that attract. The walks around the village are among the most scenic anywhere and all of this combines to make Tintagel one of the most visited places in Britain.

-Cultural activities: The Eden Project is a global garden collected and grown under artificial biomes (or bio-domes). Visitors can wander its many paths and explore the stunning variety of flora. There are tropical plants, Mediterranean offerings and specimens from the world’s temperate zones. It also boasts the largest covered rainforest in the world!

-The Cornish coast and countryside are both beautiful and beg the attention of guests staying in holiday homes in Little Petherick. The beaches are fabulous, with places like Perranporth offering two miles of sand; perfect for surfers or sunbathing while the kids play. The UK’s top surfing town, Newquay, is also just a few miles away. Walkers will be impressed by the rugged coastal trails and the inland beauty of Bodmin Moor.

Relaxing stay in lovely house

5 of 5
We had a lovely week at Clemens Beach House despite wet and windy weather. The house was cosy and comfortable and everything that could be needed was provided. We had a nice welcome from Ali with scones and prosecco. The lounge area was a nice place to relax and enjoy the sea view (or watch the rain clouds over the sea!) Although the house is attached to the owner's house, it is private with a separate entrance and secluded patio area. Crantock village is a little gem, with a well stocked shop for essentials (including great pasties) and 2 pubs which both serve food within a few minutes walk. We enjoyed walking down to the beach and watching the tide in various states. Whilst Crantock is a good location for exploring Cornwall, there are also plenty of walks from the house, including catching the ferry across the Gannel estuary to walk into Newquay. We would happily return again if staying in that part of Cornwall.
