  • An extremely comfortable stay in a lovely house with something for all the family
    5 of 5

We had a wonderful and relaxing week at Church Elms Farm at the end of August. We were a family group of 6, ranging in age from 3 1/2 to 70 and it suited us perfectly. The house is full of character. The kitchen extremely well stocked – everything you could possibly need and more. The bedrooms were all a good size and beds comfortable. Our boys were particularly thrilled with the toy barn, the trampoline and the rabbits which we had fun spotting every evening. We had a couple of days of rain but the house and grounds are so spacious with so much to do that we were quite happy “at home”. We also found the house to be ideally located and we had some enjoyable days out. Tenterten - a pretty town, the Romney/Dymchurch railway, the RSPB nature reserve at Dungerness, Port Lympne Wild Animal Reserve and the Rare Breeds Centre, were all within a short drive. Further afield Penshurst Place had something for everybody and the kids loved Diggerland! Dealing with Andy, the owner, couldn’t have been easier. He has obviously put a lot of thought into ensuring his guests are well catered for and we really appreciate his making his wonderful home available. We would highly recommend and hope to stay again ourselves.

  • Flexible property caters for Adults & Children!

I am rarely compelled to leave reviews so this hopefully illustrates how pleased we were with our stay, and I would certainly recommend this to any large parties of friends, families etc. This property has it all - huge amounts of space, both inside (with large communal areas and a huge number of bedrooms) and outside too. We arrived here with 5 children (ages ranged from 5 months to 4 year olds) and they were able to play/run/crawl freely on a lovely big lush green lawn, with a large number of toys provided with for play outside. There was also a large number of toys provided for indoor play, along with stair gates, high chairs, travel cots all thrown into the mix which made it very convenient for us. We were greeted upon arrival by Tony who explained all of the facilities available in the house, along with a brief run down of nearby food, attractions (fishing!) etc. There was also a rather large chocolate cake, bread, milk, tea & coffee all provided - very helpful after a long car journey and before we had the chance to pick-up our food shopping from the local supermarket. Tony was also on hand via the phone if we had any queries whilst we stayed, although there was only one (we ran out of bin bags and he brought us some more). Overall we were very pleased with our stay here and would certainly come back again, as well as recommend it to friends and family. If you are looking for a large clean & tidy house set in beautiful Kentish countryside with great customer service, then this is the place for you!
